With the Holidays having officially started, I like to take this time of year to plan my strategies for the coming year.

I don't mean "New Year's Resolutions", I mean business and personal planning.

I like to break the upcoming year into quarters, and set goals accordingly.  I've found that despite my best effort(s) that I need to allow myself periods to "adjust" my thinking in case unforeseen events make my goals unattainable.

Some people like to share there goals with others - while some prefer not to share.

I find some value in sharing my goals with important people in my life, because it helps keep me on track with my plans.  My thinking is that if you don't share your goals then it's too easy to forget them.

Best of luck in 2010!

The day to day what you have to do, how to manage time and identify the weak areas. It's not a just New Year's resolution...it's day to day real estate olympics.

Hi Larry,  I always admire people who are good at goal setting and then have the discipline to stick to the plan or adapt as needed.  Best luck to you for a terrific 2010 !

I have met only a portion of my goals for this year and am still performing some of them.  I like the quarterly adjustment to my thinking part and will schedule some time in my calendar to evaluate. Thanks for the idea!

Quarterly adjustments help you re-structure your goals if an unexpected event happens.
