IT'S BEEN ALMOST 72 YEARS AND WE'RE HOPING IT LASTS EVEN LONGER...

It's been almost 72 years and we're hoping it lasts even longer.  No we are not talking about the losing streak the Toronto Maple Leaf hockey club has been on, it hasn't been that long for them yet and we want that streak to end.

We are talking about snowfalls in Toronto!
Yes, we have been enjoying somewhat of balmy temperatures for this area at this time of year.  What we didn't realize though was while we are enjoying this weather, we are on our way to breaking the 72 year old record of, drum roll here please, of NO SNOW IN NOVEMBER in Toronto

No Snow this Winter!

Yes, we are shouting and yes, we are happy.  Just a few more days to go and the record will be broken.  It looks like Mother Nature will be co-operating because there is no snow in the weather forecast.

The City ploughs are ready, the salt & sand are piled high, the anti-freeze is stocked
at the gas stations ready for the inevitable winter wonderland, but for every day it is delayed the shorter the season is and yes, we all would be happy about that.

Do you see a weather record breaker in the forecast?

Al and Peggy - That's amazing.  I always thought you people up there got snowed in since October.  Enjoy the no snow days while they lasted.  I heard the winter will be very coooooooooooooooold this year.

Al & Peggy,  We haven't been to Toronto in about 14 years.  We had pleasant memories of some rain and a wonderful trip to Niagara Falls. Enjoy your soft start of winter.

Al & Peggy,

Not sure when the Maple Leafs will break their streak and win a Stanley Cup but the no-snow in November would be a good record for Toronto to break.   It will be interesting to see how this year's winter will be in Toronto as well as other parts of Canada and the US.   Something tells me we may be in for big changes in temperature and weather in a lot of areas.

Do the dance of joy while you can!  My brother in law will be moving from Ottowa back to the states in December.  I think we will be guaranteed lots of snow while he is trying to move.  ==:-0

Al & Peggy, Wow, that's some record!  I don't remember the last time it snowed here in November but I hate to think what the next few months will hold.  I'm getting out while I can :)!!

Al & Peggy - I wonder if your snow season will be extended.  I know my relatives in Wisconsin had snow this past May, which never happens.

We have been so lucky but I think with the lack of snow, it's harder to get into the Christmas spirit.  My son has been busy at Canadian Tire putting snow tires on cars so maybe those folks know something we don't lol.

Hi Al and Peggy - Even though we don't have any of the white fluffy stuff yet, the City of Toronto still has its snow clearing staff living in camps ready to start the plowing, sanding and salting process as soon as the snow and ice are forecasted.

I don't know if the army is on standby yet to rescue T.O.

Rosalinda, no where we are we usually only look at light snowfalls in November and then duck your head!  Please don't say four letter words like 'cold'.

Bite your tongue Tom LOL! When it comes we only want it on Christmas Eve and over Christmas then be gone!

Got out before the snow came did you Steve?!

Oh it should be fabulout for the Olympics Steve!

As long as they are good changes Gerry, then bring it on!

Ottawa gets alot more snow than we do.  Will your brother be in a State closer to you Debra?

Carole, we usually share the same type of weather, just a few days apart. Where are you off to?

George, you are too funny!  We will have ticked alot of people off if it does.  Bet you are watching the T.O. weather on Monday won't you?

Michelle!!!!! Don't you even THINK that!! Cuz if it does, we are definitely moving in with you!

Jim, can you imagine your fresh cut tree against our beautiful crisp white snow?

Ya, those people know it is inevitable Jenny. Does that mean YOU have your snows on?

As soon as we started reading your comment Marc, the army came into our minds. Took the words right out of our mouths.  Don't think old Mel will ever live it down!

Why are you so happy about no snow? Don't you live up there in the Great White North because you like snow? If not, we have room for you here in the Sunny South known as San Diego!

Happy December!

You are tempting us Russel!  In actual fact we like the four seasons and all that it brings.  Have to admit though sometimes, the winter can last a bit longer but it just makes you enjoy spring all that much more.  The snow when it comes in large falls, just hampers driving and walking around. If we visit even further up north, it is an awesome feeling when you walk outdoors and the insides of your nose feel like it freezes up.  But you have to go up pretty far North and it has to be a pretty cold day, but its nice too with the ice twinkling on the trees.  Natures beauty once again.
