Mother Nature Rocks !

By
Home Stager with Valesca Bogard

Recently, I sat back and reviewed my staging inventory.  Which items really struck a chord? What were the go-to pieces that consistently added flair? Ultimately, it turned out the stars on the shelves had a common thread - nature.

Shell, Coral, Sponge

Integrating natural elements into staging adds texture, life, and interest.  Natural elements evoke comfort, connection and are familiar to all. What better way to create that "invitation to linger" that we seek when professionally staging a property.

Creating warmth

Specific elements :Plants, Trees, Flowers, Wood, Reeds, Shells, Stone, Organic Shapes, and of course, color...just to name a few. Whether creating the link to spectacular views of outdoor landscaping or views, or drawing the eye to architectural features, nature inspires.

Leading the eye to the grand view

We didn't even touch on nature in artwork. A future Blog subject? We'll see.

Great information Valesca. Yes, natural elements tend to tug on our being.  We try to incorporate them into every staging one way or another.  Not a total Feng Shui concept, but just a grounding especially with contemporary design.  Thank you for sharing my wonderful friend.

That certainly sounds like an inviting way to stage a home, and brings to mind Feng Shui as Lori mentioned.

Using natural elements when staging brings the best result! Some of the items I love to use include river rock, driftwood, coral, shells, lucky bamboo, etc.  They give life to a home!

ANature does rock.  Great post.

Think about making the photos a little bigger for people with "old" eyes.

This is a wonderful blog!  I totally agree that using "natural" materials in staging makes a room come alive.  My most recent find was discovered this past weekend while hiking in the Adirondacks:  a very sculptural curly piece of birch bark, which will definitely be used in the near future!
