Tropical Park Update from Part I

If you read the blog entry on the upgrades at Tropical Park, you might know that the renovations were in danger of being cut for budgetary purposes. Thank goodness the South Florida Trail Riders have good news to report!

Bert Triana, Chairman of the Tropical Park Equestrian Center Advisory Board, has informed the SFTR that they have won !  Commissioner Souto. Souto has backed off from taking $5 million from the money allocated to complete the Equestrian Center. The Parks Department will re-write their recommendations to reflect the new accord .  The SFTR president, Wayne Hershberger, represented the SFTR at the meeting. He requested the minutes from the meeting, and will forward them to the SFTR Board and to the membership at large.

I would like to thank all those who took the time to e-mail the County Commissioners. We must continue to voice our opinions to all the Commissioners, especially Commissioner _____, until this deal is done. Do not stop yet!
