You are a single and moving to San Francisco. You are 25 - 30 years old. After work you like to have fun. You are looking to buy a 1 bedroom/1bathroom condo or condo-loft. You heard about Tenancy in Common (TIC) apartments and are willing to give it a shot as well. You are looking for a recommendation of the area which additionally should offer all major life amenities within a walking distance:

Here is an answer for you, a list of places you might want to consider with reasons why and approximate price for 1 bedroom apartment. Please remember that San Francisco is a really small City, so in 15 to 30 min you can move from one end to another, either by car or by mass transit. Prices include TICs.

South Beach ($600k, on the Bay, between Bay Bridge and Giants stadium)
Marina ($650k, a great place close to Marina, plenty of cafes, restaurants)
South of Market ($470k, many restaurants, Sony center, etc.)
Inner Sunset ($750k, next to Golden Gate Park, plenty of cafes, restaurants)
Inner Mission ($250k, many experimental theatres, average price - $600k)
Mission Bay ($570k, up and coming place behind Giants stadium, on the Bay)
Mission Dolores ($340k, as Inner Mission).
