Little did anyone know that I've been working on something. I was born with a genetic defect that renders me useless on a golf course. There, I said it. I suck at golf. I made up my mind to overcome my disability
Oddly, I won a round of golf at a local course. Tiburon - The Ritz Carlton, Naples. This isn't the Ritz on the Gulf, it's the Ritz - WCI Communities Development with the golf course designed by Greg Norman. By the way, Tiburon is Spanish for Shark. Get it?
At any rate I decided to take the bull by the horns and learn to golf. I was lucky enough to have a volunteer help me with my first game. Marc Blasi was kind enough to join me - likely for the free golf and all of the free laughs he could stand. I don't have to go into detail about who won this round, I think we all know. Marc was kind enough to take such pity on me that he treated me to an entire round of golf the next week. Hey, he's a mortgage broker, he's loaded, right? Never has anyone golfed so bad in the history of golf that they get a mulligan for the ENTIRE game, not just a single swing.
This is a great course and a lovely environment. Greg Norman holds the Templeton Shoot out here every spring. I've had the privilege of attending on a few occasions. It's an excellent opportunity to see the pro's in action.
Personally, I should probably stick to running, but I do like a challenge. Fore!
