Choosing Not to be "Negative" (Week 1)

By
Real Estate Agent with Baird & Warner Downers Grove

                 So here it goes...

I've consciously decided NOT TO BE OR BECOME NEGATIVE!!

Listening to all the negative news regarding Real Estate was really starting to get to me.  I was becoming...no, not me...OK, I'll say it...NEGATIVE.  I was letting all the negativity seep deep into my head (I'm exaggerating).  One report after another with nothing but dire news.  There was no way out until I had my "AH-HA" moment.  I decided that I am going to keep a weekly journey about my Real Estate successes and focus ONLY on those. And, you know what?  This week has been AWESOME.  I FOUND MYSELF AGAIN!  YIPPEE!!  I didn't realize how much happens in a week's time.

SUCCESSES (WEEK 1)

1. I had 2 closings this week.  One was on Thursday and one on Friday.

2. I sent out 2 buyer referrals to agents in Wisconsin.

3. 1 of the referrals I sent has already gone to contract.

4. I had 3 showings on one of my listings.  One of those showings are going back for a 2nd.

5. I had a Relocation buyer out yesterday.

6. I went on a listing appointment and got the listing.

7. I sat an Open House and gained a new client.

The point of my journal and being positive is so that consumers realize that people are still buying & selling homes.  As I said in a previous post, homes are taking longer to sell, but they are selling, there is a lot of inventory, but it gives buyers a lot more to choose from compared to the past several years, prices have come down which will help buyers afford a little more.  I think if we try to remain positive as an industry, we will overcome all the NEGATIVE associated with Real Estate.

I hope this post will inspire you to keep track of your SUCCESSES as well.  STAY POSITIVE!

P.S. How couldn't I be positive when I am spending time at my lake-house looking at this:Legend Lake in Keshena, WI

Sounds like the Fish Philosophy to me...

I love the Philosophy myself - the Pikes Peak Fish Market in Seattle is a dirty grueling job... and the people that work there have a philosophy to wake up and enjoy their time despite conditions...

it is contagious too!
