First Fridays at Abbot Kinney is a great way to get a taste of the art, shopping and music scene in the trendy Venice, California neighborhood.

The next event will take place on December 4th, from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m.


Neighborhood merchants come together to showcase the best artists, gifts, music and more and it is a chance to get to know Abbot Kinney as a walking destination.

These merchants also contribute towards supporting the local community.

There is an eclectic mix of participants in First Fridays which makes for a fun evening.

My guess is Venice today is not the same Venice I grew up near in the late 1960's and early 70's.  Last time I was ther, about 15 years ago, so much had changed - it was very commercialized...not yet trendy...gang problems and cops everywhere...kind of scarey actually...now I'm guessing it is another trendy beach city...
