The real estate investor association of Oakland County Michigan (REIA of Oakland County MI) is having their next meeting soon. Here is all the information you need. This is a great association to join if you are thinking of buying real estate as an investment in Southeastern Michigan. Whether you are thinking of flipping homes or becoming a Metro Detroit landlord this association has hundreds of members that have been doing this for years. They have great informational monthly meetings. And the members are a wealth of information willing to share their knowledge. So I recommend you to join and learn from some of their past mistakes. So it won't cost you.
This month's meeting, December 10th, is the "Loan Modification Panel."
Loan modifications have become a necessary evil in today’s economic climate. In its simplest terms, it is a restructuring of a loan without actually refinancing the property it secures. Modification of a loan applies to the terms governing the interest rate, the amount of the monthly payment, and in some cases, the loan amount. It’s sole purpose is to enable the borrower to meet the terms of the new loan for the foreseeable future. To bring the latest information on the subject to the public we've assembled a panel of experts in the field. Our panel of experts includes:
- Bruce Redman is a lawyer with Redman Law Firm, specializing in real estate since 1994. He represents major mortgage lenders and servicers in foreclosure, litigation, title claims and bankruptcy. In addition, his firm holds seminars to educate homeowners on alternatives to foreclosure and has represented dozens of individuals in loan modifications, foreclosure counseling and other foreclosure alternatives.
- Suzanne Taube has been in the mortgage lending industry for the last 25 years; working for companies like Countrywide, GMAC and Kaplan. She is a past president of the Michigan Mortgage Brokers Association. She is currently the managing partner of Sheffield & Associates doing loan modifications and debt settlement in Birmingham.
- Ellen Mahoney, with Loss Mitigation Consulting Services, LLC has over 26 years of experience in real estate and finance providing assistance to individuals assessing options pertaining to residential real estate. Her firm provides comprehensive loss mitigation advice, such as loan modifications and short sales.
Don't miss this opportunity to hear the latest updates on loan modifications and other loss mitigation techniques in this time of unprecedented delinquency, default and foreclosure. There will be a question and answer period after the presentations.
Whatever level you are at in your real estate career, don’t miss our December meeting.
