Over the course of 7 + years of selling homes in the area, I have worked with DR Horton on several occasions. Overall, the experience was good and my clients have been happy. That is an excellent start, but the true test is how the company handles warranty requests and complaints.
In the last three months, I have worked with two clients who were selling their DR Horton homes. One client was in Heritage in Keller, Texas, and the other was in Santa Fe Enclave in Fort Worth, Texas. Keep in mind that these homes were 3 - 5 years old and well out of their typical warranty period.
After the buyer's inspector found a few items that were recommended for repair, both sellers contacted DR Horton to check in with them. To all of our surprise, DR Horton promptly repaired the items at no cost to my clients!
I was highly impressed given the fact that most builders would simply point out the fact that the customer is out of their warranty and that they have no obligation to fix the items. I would surely recommend them to any future clients.
I can also speak from personal experience about the quality of DR Horton's homes in this area. Before I purchased my first home, I lived in a new DR Horton home in The Crossing at Fossil Creek in Fort Worth. During the two years that I lived there, we did not have even a single nail pop!
My hats off to DR Horton's builders in Heritage and Santa Fe Enclave. Keep up the good work and reputation!
