YouTube on iPhone, GET THEM ONLINE!

On June 20th Apple announced that the new iPhone (which was release Friday) will be able to watch YouTube videos:

"iPhone delivers the best YouTube mobile experience by far," said Steve Jobs, Apple's CEO. "Now users can enjoy YouTube wherever they are-on their iPhone, on their Mac or on a widescreen TV in their living room with Apple TV."

To achieve higher video quality and longer battery life on mobile devices, YouTube has begun encoding their videos in the advanced H.264 format, and iPhone will be the first mobile device to use the H.264-encoded videos. Over 10,000 videos will be available on June 29, and YouTube will be adding more each week until their full catalog of videos is available in the H.264 format this fall.

The combination of H.264-encoded videos plus iPhone's built-in Wi-Fi networking, stunning 3.5 inch display, and custom YouTube application with its multi-touch user interface results in the best YouTube experience on any mobile device.  (taken from Apple.com PR website)

If you haven't seen or known what the difference is between regular online videos and h.264 videos WATCH OUT!!!  This is the clearest and cleanest of all videos on the web.  If you want to see what this kind of technology looks like open up your iTunes (you do have iTunes to manage your music on your iPod) and pull up a movie.  Click on "View Preview" and prepare to amazed.  Obviously the files a MUCH larger and you must have a good high-speed connection, but in this industry who can live without this now?  If you are on this site and you are blogging, you are ready plain English in this post and it is not beyond your understanding.

So I would love to find out from any of you other SUPER-TECHIES out there, how are you going to use this new piece of technology to improve your life and build your business??

Have you tested out YouTube videos using wifi on the new IPOD Touch?  I hear they work exactly like the iPhone except it uses wifi only for it's connection.  I can see this nifty tool coming in very handy for real estate agents and home buyers both.

I tested out both the iPhone again this past weekend and I am not impressed with the speed of viewing YouTube videos on the EDGE network.  I also got a new AppleTV system and played with the YouTube feature and that is a very neat product and the wireless feature is great.

YouTube on the iPhone is great. The January 2008 update to Google Maps on the iPhone is a great real estate tool. Click on an icon, and Google Maps locates where you are. From there, search for whatever your client is asking about (for example, nearest groceries, parking, schools, etc.)

I watched Steve Job's 2008 Keynote and the new map feature on the iPhone sure looks amazing.  I am hearing that maybe the next release will include a wifi video conferencing feature like the iChat feature of their computers.  If Apple adds this feature I will own one even if AT&T has weak service in my market.  Having iChat on an iPhone would be enough reason for millions of people to make the switch to the iPhone.

I agree!  If iChat works on a mobile device, AMEN to all the others!  There is a lot of talk about speed boosting the iPhone because the EDGE network is not the bullet train most would expect in the world of lightening fast cable connections.

Podcasting, video streams, and interactive maps make the iPhone the ultimate home buyers guide.  Jump on the band wagon, before you are left in the dust!

We will be testing out a new IPOD Touch this coming Saturday.  I have a feeling the wifi feature is going to be very useful for fast access on the go.

So if you have not seen the release of the SDK for the iPhone yet here is what that is for...

People can now make programs to be used on the iPhone to do just about anything they can dream up.  It is being backed by the biggest venture capital firm in the states with $100 million dollars to invest in programmers.  So if you think the iPhone is a fad and cool gadget WATCH OUT!!!  This will be the next tool to take over the world!  (Funny to say that, but if you listen to the press conference today you will hear "this is bigger than the computer" in relation to the iPhone)

It will only get 100x bigger in the next 5 years, my guess!

The next generation iPhone should be out before summer and will kill every other phone on the market to date AND you can get all-you-can-eat plans for $119!  That is amazing, home phones are on their way out...

We bought the iPod Touch and it works amazing.  We played with the mobile YouTube feature and it worked quick and the sounds was outstanding.  www.m.youtube.com actually worked on my Treo 700p very slick also.

It sounds like the iPhone will see a software update maybe next month if all goes as planned.  I have read several blogs and it sounds like a new copy and paste feature will be added along with a really cool chat feature.
