We must be getting all of your rain.  Typically we are dry at this time of year but this year we won't be having that problem.  We will just have to hope that we can light the fireworks through all the rain.

I don;t know how I would be able to stand the 4th without fireworks. It's raining like crazy here, so no cancellations for Texas!

Good luck!

Gary- I think I'm getting points from a couple of the people I invited to join because every time I log on the points are higher, even when I haven't blogged or commented.

Marchel-  Give us back our rain!

Blue Ridge-  It's best to not take any chances. We'll probably have at least one area that will keep them scheduled, if they shoot them over the ocean. The only way that would change is if the wind is blowing toward the shore.

Sugar Land-  It's best that we don't take any chances. You'll have to enjoy them for all of us.

Lisa,

If we keep getting rain like we have had the last couple of days, they might just lift those bans.  I know quite a few counties in Central Florida out of the RED in to the ORANGE drought levels thanks to the rains (especially today)

Lisa - David P.had pointed out on a post I did about our local fireworks that there is danger in Florida with our drought - although a lot of people may be disappointed at some of these celebrations being cancelled, they should be proud of their communities for taking action and acting responsibly.

Ines- It's definitely the responsible thing to do. But there's always a good chance that we can still have the ones the shoot from offshore, as long as the wind's not blowing inland.

Thesa- It's not the first time. I think we're getting used to it. And to be honest, I never go anywhere anyway. I hate crowds  o_O

Jason- Sorry! I missed your comment. I suppose it's possible. We have had quite a bit of rain lately. But I don't think it's been enough to really saturate the ground. After the fires in 98 that were going underground and popping up in a different location, I don't think they're going to take any chances. But the Daytona Boardwalk and Band Shell don't usually cancel, since they're shot over the ocean, from offshore.

Lisa,

No problem... we just had major rain dumped on us tonight.  Our front pasture has a shallow crater in it that never holds water after a rain.  Tonight when I came home it had 2-3 feet standing in it.  That is a first... hopefully, that really helped with the rainfall totals.

I will be in Venice, watching the fireworks on the beach! That is the great thing about living on the coast of sunny Florida, there is always someplace close that has the fireworks on the water! No need to worry then!
