Amaine home barn high security bread knife keeps the front door only used by trick or treaters once a year closed.

Kept maine farm imagefrom being blown open by the wind. Not really to keep anyone out or to barricade this country fortress. Maine is the 4th lowest crime state remember?Aroostook County is where you can breath easy, not banging in to folks in traffic or surrounded by wall to wall neighbors. That is not the way we live here. No drive by shootings, no gangs slashing tires, no pollution, no traffic. Different huh? Way way different than many areas where you carry a taser, keep your guard up 24/7 and frankly don't really trust people. You learn that to survive in a concrete jungle right?

(Changing slide to Maine..) Now, People up here in the right hand corner of the US, on the Canadian border respect each other. Your feelings and property are special. You do the same in return. Maine, the way life should be.

When you live in a town where the zip code has 136 people...life is so much simpler, uncomplicated, free of stress and emotion. The Haynesville Maine home we just listed with 17 acres on a river is priced in the $90's. Yes, we said it is on a river. A big river called the Mattawamkeag River which is pretty handy to the Grand Lake "Million Dollar View" region of Aroostook County.

Also, this home used to be the post office for that small zip code of 136 people. This is where the locals mailed packages at Christmas time, picked up their mail and socialized a little in the process. Is small, small town country living what you are missing, needing, thirsty and hungry for?

Hi, Andy. When I lived in midcoast Maine from 1980-1994, the house we bought had an alarm syatem that we never once used! We might have locked the door but once or twice in all that time.
