My first feature!  Wow!  This is so exciting...

Thank you so, so much Mirela. BTW, could that picture of you be any more beautiful?!

That's right Fred.  We're a strange but friendly species : )

When we were in West Palm Beach a couple of years ago, Jane, it got so "cold" that they were issuing warnings to pet owners to bring their pets in.  We went to the beach... : )

It's usually the rain that makes me feel like that, Ty.  Thanks for stopping by.

Too funny Andrew. It snowed here this week but only left a couple of inches. The next day it melted. My boys came home from school that day and said they had a terrible day. Why? "Because all the snow melted, Mommy!"

You're right!  Here in Myrtle Beach we can always tell who the Canadians are.  They are the only ones in the Ocean during the off season...

Gotta love it!

BTW, I have several Canadian Clients.  They love Myrtle Beach.

Very funny, Tanya! As a former New Yorker who has lived in Central Florida for 18 years now, I used to be appalled that I had begun shivering when it got down to 50*. I remembered oh, so vividly, laughing at southerners and calling them "cold weather wimps." Then I visited NY during the summer, when the northerers were wilting in the heat, and I realized that I am now "hot weather macho." So it works both ways. Thanks for the laugh!

Tanya,

As a fellow Canadian, I enjoyed your temperature scale with comments.  But seriously for the non-Canadians out there, we don't get temperatures in the -60 range.

Come to BC for the Olympics in February 2010 and see for yourselves.

I think most of the continent has been shivering these last few days, Renee.

Sharon, the Olympic torch is in the Montreal area this week. I know a couple of people who are lucky enough to be torch bearers...and my kids' school is going to see it tomorrow. We're all VERY excited, but you guys must be over the moon!

Hi Tanya,

I noticed on the news this morning that you are getting a dump of snow today.  My hometown is Ottawa and I love Montreal & Quebec City.   In this area, the westcoast of BC we don't usually get snow and if we do it doesn't last long.   Last year was an exception: we got snow before Christmas and it stayed.  I was in heaven!!

Apparently our Coastal bed & breakfast owners have hundreds of nites booked during the Olympics in February.  Our beautiful mountains are covered with snow and Whistler had the earliest start of season ever I think.  We are keeping our fingers crossed that the weather remains as is for all of our visitors and athletes.

GO  CANADA!!!!

We got 28 cm of the white stuff yesterday!  My boys and the dog are absolutely gleeful...I hurt my wrist shovelling, dammit : )

Wish I could be there in February, Sharon!  I skiied Blackcombe years ago.  It was only my fourth time skiing and I was there with a colleague who hadn't skiied in 25 years since he tore his knee.  We both rented equipment and had an AMAZING time!  I actually did a black diamond run -- it was NOT pretty, and I sloughed the top off of every mogul (sorry to everyone else), but I did it.  I'll never forget that trip.  You live in a little piece of heaven there, Sharon. Have a great winter!

LOL @ Dianne.

You're very welcome Heather.  I knew there was a need...

BTW, it's minus boody hell here in Montreal this Saturday morning.  But the sky is a beautiful blue and you need your sunglasses (which will promptly freeze on your face) because the sun in shining and reflecting off all the snow.  Winter has officially arrived.

Very funny but what made me smile the most was "Go Habs Go".  I grew up in Montreal and I am part of the same fan club.   Happy Holidays!
