If I Ever Get Divorced, It's Because of Laundry!

By

OK, maybe there could be a few other issues I could work on, but honestly "Laundry" is the biggie!  With 3 children, a dog (he has clothes, too) and a hubby we have a full load of wash with just what we are wearing at the moment.   Mulitply that by a few days and you basically get enough dirty clothes to fill all of our laundry baskets . . . and then some.  Believe me, the laundry in my house moves from room to room like a glacier - but faster!

We have what we've worn, hand wash only items, sheets/towels, baseball caps, blankets, table cloths . . . yikes!

My husband, Chip Johnson, The Appliantist, sells the best laundry machines in the area and likes his clothes, closet and laundry room neat.  He deplores how I let the "laundry glacier" take over the house.  Of course I have an excuse:  20 minutes to wash and 40-70 minutes to dry just takes too long.  There is always a load in one machine or the other and more in line behind those.  And don't forget that I'm busy helping other people with their staging projects.  Who has time for this much laundry?

So, I have a plan to free myself of the glacier.  A better, faster, more sophisticated set of machines than my current 15 year old set.  If I'm good Santa might bring them for Christmas.  You've seen them - the Electrolux set on TV that features Kelly Ripa.  They come in red, white, silver, turquoise, and Mediterrean Blue -- pretty.  But the best thing is they do a complete wash and dry in 36 MINUTES!  Among the other features that I love are the steam and sanitize options in both machines and the fact that they hold 18 pairs of jeans.

  Dear Santa,

Please bring this Electrolux set for Christmas.

                          Thanks so much,

                                        Honey

My Triangle Staging and Design clients are typically embarassed to show me their laundry rooms.  If they only knew!  I am quick to tell them that I don't judge their messes because I live in a glass house, so to speak.  Maybe if they do all of their Staging Consultation homework Santa will bring them the Electrolux set for their new homes, too.

The real question: Do they really dry that fast?  I have a newer front loading set and we stager line dry/dryer load since the wash cycle is always much faster than the dry cycle.

I think my wife tried to kill me last week. (look at my last Wednesday post) she switched detergents and I ended up in a benadryl induced coma for a few days ... (my first thought when I read your title!)

Honey -- please tell Santa that I'd like a set of those too ... they would be a welcome addition in most homes, I'd wager!

Honey, I thought of you today as I put things in the dryer as I headed out the door.... Wondering if there really is a dryer out there that could keep up the washer!

I didn't know washers and dryers could be cool, but these sure are!  Wonder if they qualify for green points?  Has to be Energy Star rated and if possible have a water factor of 6.0 or less.

Good seeing you here, had fun working with you on REBarCampRDU!
