Before going to my office for a late afternoon appointment I stopped at my local Caribou and did some work on my computer. Answering emails, updating status on some of my listings, and making some calls. As I went through my emails I read one that I could not believe.
I had gotten a message that someone wanted to see my short sale listing in Batavia this weekend. Now because I post on craigslist I have gotten emails from some spammers asking me to give them information by going to a specific url. So of course, I was a little bit skeptical. So I responded that I needed more information, did he have a Realtor, was he pre-approved, etc.
I saw a 2nd email with a cell phone number and called. Long story short, the person was very interested in the listing, did not have a Realtor and wanted to know if I would agree to being a dual agent. I have only been a dual agent a few times in my career but since my last two agents decided to go back to "regular" jobs I agreed to the stipulation.
I made the appointment and this weekend I will be showing him the home. I have already sent him the active listings and closed listings so they have information to make an informed decision.
Whether this turns into an actual sale is hard to predict but the reality is that Active Rain does work! You can get leads and they are actual persons!
So mark me as a believer and I will continue to blog and post my listings and get those leads rolling in for 2010 and beyond.
