Opening Friday, December 4. RENT. Trustus Theatre proudly presents this performance that follows a group of impoverished young artists and musicians who struggle to survive and create in New York's Lower East Side in the thriving days of Bohemian Alphabet City, under the shadow of AIDS. Friday, December 4 - Saturday, December 5. Five Points Festivus. Celebrate the Holiday season in true Five Points style this year during "Five Points Festivus". From traditional holiday cheer to fun Festivus events, this is the place to be on December 4 & 5, 2009! From the Airing of Grievances Tour to the Feats of Strength - Festivus 2009 will be a great event! Who else could pull off a Festivus? "It's a Festivus Miracle!" Friday, December 4 - Sunday, December 6. Winnsboro Winter Arts Festival. The festival kicks off with a special art opening featuring photography by Fairfield High School students, USC students and the work of Nikolai Oskolov. Other activities include live music, theatre, a parade, Santa, tree lighting, carriage rides, carolers and special exhibits! There's no better way to ring in the holiday then at this festival! Friday, December 4. Harborside Lights at Lake Carolina! With thousands of lights being strung, 1200 luminaries ready to be set and dozens of trees being decorated, Lake Carolina is ready to celebrate the upcoming holiday season at Harborside Lights from 6-9 p.m. Planned activities for the Harborside Lights celebration include photos with Santa, stocking decorating, hay rides, musical entertainment and horse drawn carriage rides. A variety of specialty craft vendors and food vendors will be on hand at Harborside Lights as well for the holiday goers looking to get some of their gift shopping done. Lake Carolina’s own merchants will be hosting holiday open houses in Town Center and on the Village Green during the holiday celebration. Visit Lake Carolina for additional information.

Friday, December 4. Holiday Main Street Marketplace. The downtown holiday open-air market features holiday specialty items, prepared foods, baked goods, art, photography, books, handmade crafts, and much more. Free admission! Complimentary shuttle service courtesy of City Center Partnership is available in the 36 block area downtown, bounded by Gervais to Elmwood and Assembly to Marion Streets, to pick up and drop off attendees. Saturday, December 5. Carolina Carillon Parade. With nearly 100 entries, the Carillon will feature a memorable opening presentation, high school drill teams, clowns, marching bands from across the state, dances and entertainers, local churches, vintage autos, dozens of custom floats, live animals and the children’s highlight each year...Santa Clause!!! Saturday, December 5. Oyster Roast and Toast To Camp Hope. Winter is almost here and you know what that means...time for an Oyster Roast! Come warm up with us by the fire and enjoy some delicious oysters at the Columbia Jaycees Camp Hope Roast and Toast. There will be live music by The Blue Laws and an open beer & wine bar.
