22 Comments on For those of you who do not understand NASCAR!!!!
Got my Daytona 500 2010 hat ready for Xmas....let's see - guys who MARRY the MOTHERS of they BABIES; who give MILLIONS to Charity * Jimmie Johnson gave $1,000,000 to 3 schools in CA (ElCajon where he grew-up in a TRAILER PARK) NC where he lives and OK where his wife is from * who don't have TATOOS all over their bodies * they feature Brooks & Dunn & Keith Urban for their PRE-RACE shows * OH! and there are no breast grabs!!! Families can watch the show.....and they are not STUPID - Booty Barker former crew chief for MWR has 2 degrees - one from ODU; Ryan Newman #39 ARMY Chevrolet has an engineering degree from Purdue.....most fly their own planes * Carl Edwards, Matt Kenseth, Jack Roush, Rusty Wallace....many are intelligent businessmen - Mark Martin (#5 Chevrolet) owns a Ford dealership in Batesville, AR; Dale Jarrett owes one in NC; Elliot Sadler (#19 from VA) family owns Dodge dealership and Darrell Waltrip owns a Toyota dealership in TN.
Good looking men in colorful FAST cars bumping and banging * boogity, boogity, boogity!!!
....Nori * except for the soap opera Jeremy Mayfield issue which I AGREE is idiotic - that is REALLY the only scandal in NASCAR for the last year.
The KING gave almost 200 acres for The Victory Junction Gang Camp (affiliated with Paul Newman's Hold in the Wall camps) and the drivers and teams give tirelessly of their TIME and $$$ to support it out of love of the sport and the Pettys!!
Wsllace - great points at #4! Ever wonder what some appraisers do for fun? Insult a bunch of people for sport, and leave cheap shot comments and run. lol
Wallace, I always love the cheap shots. So shallow and ridiculous. Since it is still a free country - at least for a little while - we can damn well do what we want. That's what makes us free.
I am not a NASCAR fan nor am I a football fan. If people get relaxation and enjoyment out of those sports that's fine with me. I don't attack them or ridicule them. We have all types who join AR. Some simply join for the sport of being rude.
Hi Wallace - NASCAR is a great addition to an exciting weekend in Las Vegas. We also have the Las Vegas marathon tomorrow, plus the National Finals Rodeo is in town. Never thought I would see Jimmie doing donuts on the Strip.
John * I'm looking for photos of show cars on the strip - I keep checking my NASCAR websites. If LV paper has some, shoot me a link, please.
I change my screensavers annually with shots from races as they are run.....
Got 'em!!!
What a great night, I am a huge fan of people who excel in sport like this. Amazing!
Larry * the back story is that NASCAR wanted to build a track on Long Island - I understand they had backers, arranged for the land acquisition AND were working on approvals and NY said a RESOUNDING NO....the "powers that be" in NASCAR (the France family) elected to move the Championship Banquet soon after - that is mega $$$ leaving NYC and although JJ and his team did photo ops on the Empire State Bldg etc, there were no show cars, booking of massive amounts of hotel rooms, food, beverages or SHOPPING...we NASCAR fans are DELIGHTED!!!
Wallace .....I missed out on the #3 comment but from the others after It must have been something stupid.....But we will have that as long as we have ignorant people that really don't understand people..... I'm A NASCARfan from birth my family has always been in racing infact we had Micheal Waltrip drive one of are ARCA cars back when he was 17-18 years old and my dad worked on Winston Cup cars every spring in Daytona......I will have to get some of the pics and post them....
As for the Show going to LV now that was a great move I think we will go to the show next year....I'm not a Jimmy Fan as you know but him winning 4 in a row that is cool...and what he does with his fame and fortune even better always giving....although I am a Chad fan he is a great leader..... anyway it was a great show .....peace zane
Zane * I LOVE Mikey - I actually have a #55 DODGE ball cap from his 1 year with Bill Davis Racing....I hope MTjr does well in the #56 next year and look forward to seeing Mikey work with him at the plate races!!!
Mikey on fire at Fontana
here is a cool photo for you Wallace I took this at his shop this summer.....along with a few other ummm illegal (no I was allowed) photos...LOL....peace zane
I'm sorry I missed all the ruckus, Wallace. Great post. I wish I would have been able to see comment #3 so I could have read it myself. My parents don't understand how I could love to watch cars go "round and round in a circle". I don't understand how my dad thinks MMA is entertaining (it's just a couple of guys beating the crap out of each other, right?). I can't get them to understand that it is more like chess than just watching cars go "round and round". There's a finesse that you need, strategy involved and thinking several moves ahead even before you start that I totally enjoy.
Heather * I agree. I LOVE watching TWIN on Speed on Monday night to learn if what I thought was going on is what Mikey and Greg saw on the track....
I'm not enthused with Danica coming into Nationwide; however, I am excited to see the new cars for that series!

Jimmie looks extremely uncomfortable with those two on either side. "what if the wife sees me like this!"
As a sport NASCAR has it together, Loyal fans, see if a Jimmy Johnson fan drives a Ford, business sense and so much more.
Oh and the other perspective, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AEXZtDzKxiE
I've just been watching Shootout practice for an hour and there is ALREADY a 6 car wreck!!!
