Let it snow, let is snow, let it snow!

PBG Award of MeritWe are expecting snow here in New Milford, CT, the first significant snow fall for the state since last March. Yes, we had a bit of snow in October, but that fell and left. My portion of the state is expecting 2-4 inches, not all that much in the scheme of things but... for me it could just possibly be enough.

I know, snow brings cold, snow brings driving woes, snow brings shoveling and plowing, but you know what snow brings most of all? PHOTO OPS! Yes indeed, I am already thinking about what I want to photograph with the snow. The Christmas trees on the green in New Milford, or the silos, the barns, the fences and cornfields behind my house, what what what to photograph? Perhaps tomorrow morning a trip over to Bulls Bridge Covered Bridge in South Kent? I feel like Christmas morning with the presents piled under the tree and no idea which to open first! Truth be told, it will all depend on how the roads are tomorrow morning, so we shall see what I end up doing!
New England Barns in Winter

Snow is my favorite subject to photograph. Snow is the reason I bought the camera I did as it is weather proof and has something like 60 seals to keep the weather out. Snow is just amazing stuff! So if the weather channel is right and we have a good snow fall, I will be out with the dog finding things to photograph. And having a great time of it as well!

And who knows, perhaps a good snowfall will motivate me to put the Christmas tree up!
Now what are the chances of a white Christmas this year? Who knows. In the meantime, I will enjoy what today will bring. So, let is snow, let it snow, let it snow!

Here are some of the snow photos I have done in the past, hope you enjoy them! Some are very old with the first ever digital camera I had, you can tell by the quality of the photo, but it is still my favorite subject, SNOW!

Kari, why thank you! I just love to take snow pictures so I am very excited at the prospect!

Debi, I have gloves like that, LOL. But I wear them inside when I am on the computer. My hubby loves it cold in the house, must be the Russian in him. I have learned to adjust but the fingers don't like it. I will give that a shot! Thank you.

Donna, we have the rain right now, just started. I am hoping the weatherman was right, I am so drooling over snow photos! Thank you.

Vegas Bob, you are too kind! I am afraid you will have to get your snow fix from me, and I will do my best for you! Thank you!

Ed, the date to beat with the golf course behind my office is December 7th, looks like that won't happen this year. But they were out there this morning. One guy IN SHORTS! Can you please splain that to me? Thank you so much!

Matt, nothing to prepare for me except camera, check, batteries, check, SD card, check, hat, gloves and boots, check and umbrella, check! Gotta keep the camera out of the elements even if it is weather proof!

Kate, aww... sorry about that. I will take photos for you!

Janna, why thank you! And when you get that serious snow I hope we see lots and lots of photos!

Hannah, we have rain at the moment. I want snow snow snow! And thank you!

Carla, LOL, yes indeed it is! You are so kind, thank you!

A crisis of sorts however, decisions decisions. If indeed I want photos of the Christmas trees on the green, and it does snow this evening, I will have to stay at my daughters house. The 4 wheel drive in the jeep is not functioning at the moment which is not good. There is only one way to my home, straight up, and one way to town, straight down. So... in the interests of keeping myself safe I may have to have a slumber party with my daughter. Anyway I was going to drag her with me to the green to hold the umbrella, pregnant or not!

Hi Andrea,

Your photos prove you have to be in the right place at the right time with a CAMERA!  Mission accomplished.  I think of my camera as another appendage.  Beautiful subjects, result in beautiful photos.

I used to travel a lot for business.  One day I said to myself, I am going to stop and smell the roses.  I was on Highway 5 coming from Vancouver driving towards Seattle.  I took some of my favorite photos in that national park.

Below, is one of my rescued cats, "JUSTICE" is his name.  He is a lynx-point Siamese.

It must be very hard showing property to clients in the winter.  This makes me appreciate California weather more.  The worst we get is hard rain and wind.

Andrea, the deal with the shorts, which I also wore this morning has to do with moisture on the pants legs. I would rather feel a slight chill on my 'gams' than to have damp wet pants rubbing against my leg while I walk along.

Andrea - I like the icicles on the edge of the barn roof and the barren tree branches.  It certainly says Winter to me. Congratulations on receiving this award of merit in the ActiveRain Photo Blogger group.

Andrea,  I don't want you to be disappointed but I hope you have very few "Snow Photo Opps" because for me they are called "Shoveling Opps" and I don't care for "Shoveling Opps" ,,,,,,,,, LOL

Hi Linda, those are wonderful photos you took there! Yes, I never travel without my camera, you just never know.

Ed, now where was I with my camera this morning, what a photo OP I missed, LOL. Thank you for splainin that to me! We don't want wet pants on the gams... LOLOL. I am dying here at your expense for the second time today, forgive me.. or not! :D

Deb, it was slow to stick, and I am too tired to get up to look now. I wasn't able to do the downtown shots after all, but tomorrow should bring new ops!

Mryl, why thank you, I am honored to put the ribbon here. I like that photo too.

VB, :D

George, sorry about that, LOL. Perhaps you need a snowblower? We are blessed, the bucket loader does a wonderful job on the driveway, and the walkway is short!

Great shots Andrea!  Thought the first pic of the house in the snow would make a great Christmas card.  Loved it the best til then saw the picture of the icy trees, gorgeous!

Eric, no bucket loader needed here either. But, it still afforded me to take a few pictures!

Hi Al & Peggy, I just got a new shot of the barns and posted it, complete with falling snow. I think I will make my own Christmas cards this year with that particular photo! :D Thank you!

Andrea, this is my favorite way to enjoy snow--on someone else's photos.  I spent many years in northern Wisconsin but came to Florida to enjoy the beaches many years ago.  Great pictures!  May I ask what program you are using to to do the slide show?

Many thanks!  Marlene
