Today is Bristow, Virginia's first snow day of the 2009 winter season.  A rare morning smile was mine as I looked out the window and saw the white flakes falling from the sky.  The world is so quiet on a snow day.  I love it that extra bit of sound insulation.

And I especially love the views from my Braemar home on a snow day.  My husband and I purchased a lot where the views from the windows at the back of our home look at the FRONT of a house the next street over and the side windows look to woods.  I get to see picture postcard scenes on days like today.  (The picture on the right is taken from my family room.  From the kitchen or dining room we can see much more of our neighbor's lovely home.)

After a quick shovel of the driveway I think I will nestle in to make some more progress on my Christmas cards and set up the Christmas tree and other decorations.  If a snow day can't get me in the mood for the holidays, nothing can.

Hi Chris Ann-Better you than us. It is just 34* and raining. YUCK!!!! I know folks who have lived in the south all their lives love it when there is snow but when you lived in all your life like I did in NY I truly do miss it. I do like the fact that when we do get it, it is gone FAST. Get pic though. Pretty!!!! Thank you for the e-mail. Watch for that something shortly. <SMILE>

Very pretty, and you are right.  There is nothing like a snow day to put me in the holiday mood too.  We were supposed to get a little snow today, but got rain instead. Oh well, I'll just dream of a white Christmas!

Sharon:  I'll be looking for your email.  As for snow, I've lived in Northern VA all my life and I love snow.  I must be some sort of misplaced freak.  :)

Steve:  I don't know that I have enough hot air in me to do the job, but after watching Jesse Ventura's new show Conspiracy Theory, you might want to call up the Air Force base in Alaska that houses HAARP to fire it up.  Evidently there is a military radio frequency deal up there that can affect the weather.  I am not even joking.

Leslie:  Nothing is as special as snow at the holidays.

Eve:  I would rather snow than a cold rain any winter day.

Steve:  Thanks.  Got to get motivated here and away from the computer.
