Dark Paneling is one Decorating Trend that I'm happy to push out of the way.

 

1960s Family Room was so dark that it was was like a dungeon.  Dark interior shutters complimented the walls.

 

This house was like a stroll down memory lane.  See the square thing in the wall just left of the door frame?

It was a speaker and intercom system for the house.  It had TUBES in it.

The painting is finished and the dark shutters and window frames are gone.

Staged and ready to go

The room feels so much more welcoming and warm now.

This is one of my pet peeves and I have never been disappointed after the painting is complete.  Painting works miracles when it comes to dealing with paneling.  Nice work!

This whole house has been a surpirse.  We had a challange removing the old radio/speaker system from the house.  It was in several rooms.  All electrical outlets had to be replaced.  They were all two prong and now they are three

The dark paneling and shutters made the biggest change.
