The first annual ugly sweater party was a raging success! Couples traveled from all corners of Atlanta to join in the festivities dressed in their finest Christmas knits!
Billy warms up with hamstring stretches he likes to bring his A-game when large quantities of fruit cake and eggnog are at stake.
The prize for 1980's matching cotton knits go to Ken & Hector. "Ugly" is not in Ken's vocabulary... so he settled for this border line tacky (yet sophisticated) purple vest paired with vintage cuff links. Bravo! Bravo!
And the prize for most crafty sweaters goes to Jordan & Jeff. Through a mixed medium of puffy paint, LED lights and felt Jordan created the perfect blend of style and festive decor. The baby Jesus seen on the back of her sweater has been delicately glued and stitched to reflect the couples excellent taste in Mid-Century Modern Design. Truly one-of-a-kind. For more information on how to get your hands on one of these custom made sweaters visit homesweetsplitlevel.blogspot.com.
The prize for most colorful, ladies, hand-knit, dog sweater goes to Steve. Although the vivid colors in Steve's sweater resemble a Christmas theme, this light cotton cardigan is actually one of Steve's favorite everyday sweaters. He says: "It's perfect for cool summer nights, or brisk autumn mornings." Not to be outdone by her man, Elizabeth sports a faux-fur lined, rain deer, zipper vest that had the lovely aroma of moth balls!
Paul & Kathy won 1st place in the J. Crew, wool-knit, couples division! Paul said they like to wear their cozy sweaters while scooting around the neighborhood on their matching vespas. Too much cuteness going on here.
And the winner for best huggable sweater goes to Petra! With multiple stuffed animals stitched all over her red zipper hoody everyone wanted a hug. Brian won for best Bill Cosby look-a-like and Lucas was runner up for best 1970's V-neck, polyester blend.
This jolly trio decided to go with light weight, cotton, designer sportswear. Billy said he found his festive turtleneck at a thrift store and that he believes he contracted some type skin fungus from it. Holly and Chris opted to buy new. They found their green and red T-shirts at a popular french boutique called Target.
In 1st place for excessive sparkly glamour were Mitchell and Abby. Mitchell decided on wearing the gold glitter because it brought out the blue in his eyes, while Abby is promoting Anthropology's next fashion trend - Christmas Tree tinsel!
Kevin (a.k.a Rudolf) chose to accessorize his earthy plaid, poly-knit with a set of fuzzy antlers topped off with a string of lights.
Looking forward to next year. Happy Holidays!!!
