4 Comments on Home Energy Assessments
what I dont understand if the govt is sincere about all this alternative energy why not put solar sun panels on all new construction projects with just 10% of the homes and make it mandatory and provide the incentives. They can bailout big banks and executives I think they can do that and doing that will create jobs and new technologies ..... just a thought
Unfortunately the payback period on solar energy generation is not really financially viable yet, but we are getting close. A homeowner will save much more energy by simply making sure they are not wasting it. Proper air sealing and insulation are more cost effective and need to be done first, before trying to generate more energy.
Second, the cost for solar on all new homes would make the cost of building much more expensive. I don't think now is the time to throw up more roadblocks by making this mandatory. I do think that providing incentives is a great idea.
Christa - as we try to green our planet there are more tools available to help conserve energy around the home.
I could not agree more - our customers are reporting saving 15-35% on their utility costs.
