The unemployment rate is over 10%. This is not news. In fact, if you allow for the under employed as well as those that have stopped looking, the number would likely be closer to 17.5%.
No matter which number you believe, the reality is that the most affected of that group have been dealing with the hardship that unemployment brings for the better part of the last 12-18 months.
I see the effects of this every day, and my positive message is that very little of the Stimulus Package was directed to 2009 job creation. As the nation moves toward a Leaner and Greener business environment, many new jobs will created in 2010. In other words, help is on the way.
