Welcome Home to Hawaii 45th Sustainment Brigade!
A large part of our Hawaii Military family has returned to Oahu after a year-long deployment to Iraq. The 45th Sustainment Brigade is stationed at Schofield Barracks just outside the towns of Mililani and Wahiawa, home of the 25th Infantry Division.
While deployed to Iraq, the brigade provided combat service support to over 25,000 coalition personnel that includes active duty, reservists, national guardsmen, civilian employees and contractors from all branches of the armed forces.
The brigade provided logistiscal support in northern Iraq. Their area of responsibility stretched north of Baghdad towards the Turkish border, Northeast of Baghdad to the Iranian border and Northwest of Baghdad to the Syrian border.
The 45th Sustainment Brigade is commanded COL Michael McBride who is one hell of a left handed golfer! Unfortunately he will soon be relinquishing his command as it is now time for him to move on to a new assignment. His leadership and guidance was instrumental to the brigade on their deployment.
Not a day went by when I was not thinking about all of you and the other Soldiers that are deployed in harms way. Our thoughts and prayers will continue to be with all of our military brothers and sisters until they too arrive safely back home.
Welcome home to all of the Soldiers for a job well done!
