Listing your home for sale should Not be so hard!

Have your ever wondered what your agent is doing to sell your home, after he/she met with you and spoke highly of your home and put the sign in the yard and the lock box on the door? For all you know, they could be golfing. They might only be doing the bare minimum to sell your home and it's your job to ask the right questions during the listings appointment. Questions like: How many websites will my home be advertised on ( I promote over 40 sites), how many pictures will they be promoting of your home (should be no less than 7 pictures statistically) preferably at least 25 on hand, have they asked or spoke to you about staging your home or friendly house cleaning ideas. Do they provide a hand guide or check list for you to follow when getting the home ready for sale, do they promote in recognized magazines or printed literature and how many locations is it distributed to? These are just a few things you might ask your agent.

Sellers have too much faith in names that they know.  I feel like they skip the steps you are suggesting all too often.  If I see a listing with less than about 10 pictures I'm going after that when it expires because it should be an easy listing opportunity.  Good points made here.

The faith is usually right, it is the "list with the first to show up" mentality that gets one in trouble.

Hey Mike!

Great points! From a buyer standpoint, I've seen a lot of homes that describe great details of the home, only to not give any pictures to back it up. Frustrating from a buyer standpoint....but opportunity for you as a great realtor!  :)
