14 Comments on I Can't Believe They Traded Him! - Good Luck Curtis.
It is a shame we lost a good player. I hope we get some more great players this year.
Looks like they are giving up on 2010 already. Most people around here don't remember but Dombrowski did the same thing with the Florida Marlins after they won the World Series and had to shed payroll.
Russ - yes it is. I hope they know what they are doing, but I still strongly disagree with this trade.
Terry, that's exactly what they are doing - shedding payroll. I just think it's a big huge mistake. Granderson is a great player, still young and not costing them that much.
The Tigers got some good young talent and a CF replacement in the deal !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Michael - we will see. I hope you're right! We also gave up some Good young talent in Curtis Granderson and Edwin Jackson.
I'm in mourning.
Kris - I knew you would not be happy about this trade. My wife and I are still angry!
I don't know if I'm madder that they traded him at all ... OR that they traded him to the Yankmees. Ugh--that stings.
I lost a lot of faith in Mr. D. when he didn't re-sign Polly. Now Curtis and Edwin? Sooooo not happy.
I'm praying that in 6 months we're all admitting it was a good move that bolstered our team. I'm not too optimistic right now.
Merry Christmas!
Hi Marianne, oh I agree. It was tuff seeing him on the news last week with the pin striped uniform. We'll see if they were right in the spring, but like you, I'm not too optimistic either.
Merry Christmas to you also!
Well now that Spring training is winding down, this looks like a pretty good deal for the Tigers !!!!!!!
After watching A-Jax off to such a "Rookie of the Year " type of start , people must now be saying Curtis Who !!!!!!!!
"I'm praying that in 6 months we're all admitting it was a good move that bolstered our team."
I don't need to wait the full 6 months to say that it WAS a good trade!
I still miss Curtis (camera hog that he was), but I have so impressed with Austin Jackson. He's the real deal. Someone said in Spring Training that he had the potential to be Rookie of the Year, and I thought "yeah, yeah, yeah, we've heard that before". But I really think he's on the road. Rookie of the Month is a good start!
I still haven't forgiven Mr. D. for losing Polly though.
Thanks for the comments everyone. I agree, Austin Jackson is off to a great start and it looks like he's going to be a terrific young ball player! Maybe it wasn't such a bad move, it's still early in the season though.
I'm still a Granderson fan though.
Go Get Em Tigers!
