Does this listing make me look fat?

It's sometimes not easy to be the chunky one of the bunch. I prefer fluffy than fat. I know I am over weight and yes I have tried many things to drop the pounds. When I go to the company meetings, I walk in and I see all these top producers; they look like the could be blown away from the breeze. Tall, skinny as can be and making tons of money.

Well even though I am the chunky one of the group I will not let it get in my way! I am beautiful, I am motivated and I am out there getting listings and making dreams come true to buyers!

I have had a few expired listings where it was the catch of the day sort of speak and I will get to the home and wait my turn as the agents go in and out for their appointments. I watch and I see most of them are very slender and dressed to the nine. Well when I walk in and introduce myself- there has been a few times (especially with the women believe it or not) I get a weird look- of course I don't think they realize they are doing it but I can tell it has shocked them to see a full figured gal like myself walk in their door.

By the time I am done with my presentation and show them what it is I can do for them- the are so well tuned into me that they don't even see it anymore and I have gotten those listings!

It's all about the attitude you carry, how you present yourself and how you feel about yourself! I am sharing this for those other agents who are also fluffy like myself! I do wish I could drop some pounds but I am not going to let that get in my way of my bright future and great career!

Sometimes as I am finishing up my presentation depending on the prospect- I will say something sly like- And yes Mr/Mrs Jones with my proven track record and marketing tools, I am worth my weight in gold. That usually seals the deal!!!!

Work it, love it and most of all don't let it stand in your way!

It sounds like things are different in Springfield than they are in Southeastern Mass. Down here if you show up driving a $50k car and wearing a $1000.00 suit the sellers don't want to list with you. Down here when someone is paying you a lot of money to sell their home they don't want to see it going into your car or clothing. I guess we are different down here than much of the country. We have lots of fat agents, skinny agents, and mostly normal agents.

I struggle with that myself, Keep in mind I am 210lbs but to look truly fit at my present muscle % I should be more like 175 but getting from her to there is just difficult.

I do know that subconsciously people tend to gravitate to fit good looking people so it is quite possible I am eating my way out of some business.

Maureen, I too am "fluffy" and don't drive a big fancy car. When I met with one of my clients for the first time he later told me, "I knew you were a real Realtor when you didn't show up with all the "stuff". They had had an agent before me like that and it didn't work out well and it was all due to the customer service. I believe you can have all the "stuff" and still provide great customer service. I still believe that we should always look and act professional...it's all in the attitude. If you don't believe in yourself then it's not going to work any way, no matter how you look!

Fantastic post!! Attitude and hard work are everything in this business and anyone superficial enough to hire an agent based on how they look instead of their track record isn't worth having as a client.

The way I see it it is about what you have to offer even though 1st impressions say a lot.

I think that as long as you have a great marketing plan and can provide the service the client requires- everything else is secondary!!

I believe in positive thinking and the way you think will carry out into your body language which clients can see for themselves!
