Legalizing one of the oldest professions in the world (Prostitution) by: Vegas Bob

Rumor has it the Mayor of Las Vegas Nevada Oscar Goodman wants to give Highland Ave & Industrial Blvd a face lift. Highland & Industrial are where most of the (Strip Clubs) are in Las Vegas Nevada.

Oscar wants to clean up the area and make it more appealing to tourists etc. and why do you think he wants to do that? Because the Strip Clubs in Las Vegas Nevada are the second largest producing revenue in Las Vegas next to (Gambling).

Millions and Millions of dollars are made from (Strip Clubs) and that is another reason Oscar would like to legalize (Prostitution) in Las Vegas.

Prostitution is (Legal) in Nye County which covers around one tenth of the State of Nevada, but this does not include Las Vegas.

Do you think Prostitution should be Legalized in more cities across the United States?

Do you think Legalizing Prostitution would help create less rapes of women and children across the United States?

Who is getting rich on illegal Prostitution across the United States.

Did you know that a large number of college girls pay for college from working (Strip Clubs, etc.)

Inquiring minds want to know your opinions on this subject matter!

Whew!  I'm not going to touch that one.  But I do think they should legalize and tax marajuana.  It could reduce the deficit.

Hi Vegas Bob.

"Do you think Prostitution should be Legalized in more cities across the United States?" Yes.

"Do you think Legalizing Prostitution would help create less rapes of women and children across the United States?" No because rape is about power so chances are rapists would continue to rape those who they perceive as weak/powerless.

I know of many American men who visit Costa Rica, Bogota, etc for sex tours though  some people turn a blind eye to reality.

Keeping it real LOL ~ Lana

Lana - Very interesting comment and parts of South East Asia have huge red light districts where prostitution is Legal. Interesting answer about rapes and I never thought of it that way.

Patricia - This is a very dangerous subject and I can understand keeping away from it!

Bob,  I agree 100% with what Lana said, so you get qanother Yes.  Prostitution occurs worldwide whether it is legal or not.  In the places that it is legal, it seems that there is less crime and fewer drugs.  When prostitution is illegal, the criminal element is much more involved and getting rich.  I am amazed that more governments don't legalize prostitution -- it would reduce crime, drugs and disease and they could make lots of money on taxes.

I agree with Lana on this one. Folks are going to do what they are going to do. Prostitution is here to stay. Just the other day a guy was arrested for solicitation from a prostitute. The kicker, his 2 & 4 year olds were in the back seat! Can we spell divorce?

Legalize it?  Probably not.  Tax it? Defiinitely not.  The government has a vested interest in too many "sins" already.

I definitely believe it should be legalized, I feel it could then be made much safer for the prostitutes and their clients.

Legalize it for goodness sake. It will never stop ... especially as long as marriage is still legal! Ha ha ha.

We need to legalize prostitution, gambling, and marijuana everywhere, and then tax it. Once that's accomplished, we need to do away with the tax exemptions for religions. Those four things will pay for our $22 trillion debt.

Happy December!

I'm a 27 y/o guy and i think that prostitution should be illegal. why legalize to make money off this shit. some people don't understand this occupation ruins peoples lives. this is fucked up shit. if i was the president i would shut every brothel down and consequences would be alot more severe if getting caught. this isn't right people.

Hello Joey ... whether prostitution is legal or not it will always be around. There were prostitutes way back in the days when Jesus walked the earth. If it was legalized then there might be less corruption, and it could also be taxed which in turn would create more revenue for the country. I also believe that with legalized prostitution there would be less rapes in this country.
