As the storm was hitting Minneapolis several days ago, I blogged about living in Minneapolis and our winter weather.  I got an email from someone who had moved to Florida.  They said my blog was a good reminder why they had moved.

Here is all that they are missing.  They don't hear the sound of shovels hitting the sidewalk.  It is a rhythm that is almost soothing.  I prefer that sound than the snow blower sound.  They miss the crunch of the snow as you walk along.  They miss the illumination the snow gives off almost looking like there is a light on when there is none.  They miss the screams of the kids going down Morgan Park hill in the Lynnhurst Neighborhood.  They miss the hot chocolate warming you up when you return inside.  They miss the smell of mittens drying on the radiators.  They miss that healthy glow of our cheeks from being outside.

Yes, we can create a long list of all the problems snow and cold causes, but that would be a very adult thing to do.  Look at winter from a kid's point of view.  Grab your sled and run for the hill.  Last one down is a dirty dog!
