Yes my husband knows and now refers to him as my on-line boyfriend, he has come to terms with the fact, not only do I spend my weekends with him but I also spend a couple hours a week on the phone and we chat through e-mail. Yes I am guilty, ohhhh so guilty. So when my husband confronted me with this I had no other choice but to confess. Yes honey, I have been spending weekend's with Neal Bloom and I have Activerain to thank for that.
OK, it's not what it appears, let me explain. I actually got to know Neal through Lysa Napolitano and we both took the time to comment on one another's posts. Next it was the pay it forward phone call, yes he was a gentleman and was receptive, just look at him now! He took an opportunity and ran with it. Next, I invited him to meet my parents, had to get the parents approval. ONLY KIDDING.....
He actually interviewed for the task of marketing my parents property in Pompano Beach, Florida. Although the house was not ready to be placed on the market, he took time out of his weekend to meet me and check out his new potential listing. The following weekend we enjoyed ourselves in Orlando for the Activerain get together. I did not expect him to be such an important person in my life.
This past weekend, he spent 4 hours with my parents and myself as we discussed placing their house on the market. Today I have a signed listing agreement to fax to him on Friday to start marketing their house July 11.
Let me share with you a few reasons why he was selected:
- 1. Neal has integrity....OK, I am a brat and I tested him and he passed with flying colors. Extremely important to me. Afterall, it's important that I leave my parents in good hands.
- 2. Neal is very direct, please whatever you do, never approach my mother or myself and sugar coat something, We want truth and more importantly reality. I liked his style very professional and at the same time fun.
- 3. He took the time and built rapport, meaning my family loved the pastries even though my mom bakes and can's jams, Neal did not leave empty handed, when you leave the Terwilliger's house count on mom giving you something.
- 4. He was respectful to both my father and my mother and was quite diplomatic. I was impressed just how humble Neal can be and really having their best interest at heart.
I weighed the pro's and con's of all of the Realtors we interviewed. It was clear to us that he was the one. I think one of the things we appreciated more than anything that he was calm and very considerate in a very stressful situation. He handled everything with ease.
We still have preparations to get their house on the market by the 11th and yes poor Neal, not only does he have to deal with my mom (who was at the top of her game) but her Realtor/Trainer daughter too!
So if you have any concerns that Activerain is just a social network , I think you have it all wrong. I can honestly tell you that Neal would have never gotten the opportunity to market my parents property, why, I had no idea who he was prior to my on-line encounter with him. Do you have any idea how many Realtors in South Florida I have to choose from? I have many friends in the business but to me, I wanted to best person for the job. My parents are like anyone else and they deserve just that, "The best person for the job."
So Activerain, I thank you and Neal, it looks like we are in this for the long haul... That's right we have a six month commitment. Like going steady, I promise not to take up every weekend but I sure appreciate the weekends we had. And as a Realtor, Neal, ahhhhhh you are so dreamy!
