Ready Set GOALS: A New Year is about to begin, do you have a plan or are you planning to fail?

I wrote most of this post in 2009 and my goals were met beyong my expectations.

With the New Year just weeks away.  Are you Ready, Set, Goooo --->>> Set Goals for 2011.

"What are your Goals for this year" Goal Setting

Most people just say, to make more money.  Well that is all well and good we all want to make more money.  But, what are your action steps to make more money?

Here are some reasons people don't like to set Goals.

A lot of use fill out a 20 page goal setting book pre-written package that we fill out part of it and then put in a drawer and never see again for the rest of the year.

It's in our minds we don't have to write it down?  I DO!

Some people think about it but never write it down then forget all about it.  The main reason people do not set goals is because they are afraid.  If I set goals that means I have to do something to reach them.  That means I have to be responsible & accountable.

FEAR sets in quick when setting goals.  What if I fail?  What if I fall short?  What if people will judge me?  What if they are silly and someone makes fun of me?

If I don't have goals I can't fail.

Well, if you don't Plan your planning to fail!  You will NEVER reach your goals.

If you want to be successful you have to have a plan and part of that plan is to have goals and a strategy.

1.) is to measure what you did last year.

2.) is to write down your goals.

3.)  is to come up with a strategy on how to move closer to the goals.

4.) is to TAKE ACTION.  A few simple things done well everyday. (Discipline)

What ACTIONS STEPS are you going to take this year to make your GOALS come true?

Goals

Goals are our dreams that make us become successful!

I hope YOU Dream Big, write your goals down and take ACTION!

~ Have a productive 2011 ~

I'm going to work on my Marketing and Financial/ Budget Plan for 2010. I came up with this new "Seeds of 2010" sheet too to pinpoint where my current leads sit. I break my goals down into 4 Quarters and I play all 4 Quarters.

Goals are awesome but I realize that it will be better if it was broken down to bite-sizes.

June,

We are all on the same page of the play book.  I am working on a goal series.. just taking some pictures.. and ready to write... there is an actual Harvard Study that documents... if you have specific WRITTEN goals... you can make 1,000 times more than the person with no goals!  I like the blocks!

Lorreena ~ I agree, when I break it down it is not so bad.  Someone once said to me, do you think you could write a book?  Of course I said no.  If wrote just one page a day in a years time I would have a book.  I GOT IT.  You can do anything you put your mind to.

June:

I like what you have to say about not buying into your fears. I've actually found in my own life, and with the agents I coach, that setting "promises" is a thousand times more effective than setting goals. Everyone who reads this, including myself, has failed to accomplish a lot of goals over the course of our life. But how many of us have let down our promises to ourself? If we truly have personal integrity and a desire to improve, we always accomplish our promises. I would suggest dropping the out-dated method of setting goals and urge you to learn how to set promises that will actually affect your life.

they are so important and to have them written down and visualize is equally important. I believe you have to have a way to measure your progress.
