The Holidays Are a Great Time to Buy!
It's a myth that the holidays are not a good time to buy or sell. Think about it. Many sellers take their homes off the market over the holidays so the ones left are serious sellers. As for buyers, many stop looking over the holidays so the ones that come knocking are serious buyers!  That's a win win for everyone.  I've written 3 contracts over the last 2 weeks which is a significant improvement over the activity prior and I should have 2 more by the end of next week. So if you are thinking of buying or selling, call me so that we can discuss, your needs, wants, wishlist, etc!

More than anything though, I want to wish you all the happiest of holidays!!  2010 is going to be a great year!!!  Happy New Year too!

Tips to Create a Reading
Area or Home Library
By J. A. Young

Home libraries promote learning, culture, and a sense of serenity that will, hopefully, never go out of style. This area or room can also provide quiet study space and be a relaxing... Read More

Holiday Etiquette Tips 101

You've spent the entire day cooking the perfect holiday feast. But it's an hour before your guests arrive, and you find yourself standing in front of the table, listening to a little nagging voice in your head.

Does the knife go on the left, fork on the right, or is it the other way around? Is that centerpiece too tall? Should I go ahead and put food on the table before guests arrive, or do I wait until everyone gets here? If you can't... Read More

A Housing Market Update
By Angela Baca
Because today's consumers have learned serious lessons about the housing market from the recent recession, they are often attuned to the latest ups and downs of the market. In the first few months following the recession, consumers are still uncertain whether it is wise to make a big financial change like buying or selling a home. A big concern is the need to secure a low monthly house payment; potential homeowners want affordable housing in future economic downturns.

Before making a decision to change your housing situation, get the facts on the mortgage market and the local housing industry. For example, you might wonder how Wall Street has refined its mortgage lending practices since... Read More

Get Ready for Happy Holidays
By Candice Pardue
The holiday season is a time of giving and visiting with family. Unfortunately, it's also a time of stress for many families. Financial burdens seem to be the greatest this time of year and organizing parties and gatherings can be stressful too. The holiday season doesn't have to be stressful; here are some ways to make your holidays fun and reduce stress.

1. Start Gift Shopping Early
List gifts you know you'll be responsible for and start shopping for them early. Even $5 to $15 gifts add up in a hurry when you must buy several of them along with your immediate family's gifts. Often, you can buy the smaller gifts throughout the year and put them away for later. No one will ever notice.... Read More
