My Simple Approach to Blogging

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Living Albuquerque 16784

Now that I have been around blogging for awhile, I think it is time that I provide feedback to those who have helped me along the way.  First of all, thanks to all of you for your patience and your willingness to share, because that's the way it's done on Active Rain.  Today, after taking inventory, I think I have a formula that I will apply moving forward.  Here it is

I have coined it "My Simple Approach to Blogging."

1.  Define the purpose of my blog to my target audience (Primarily buyers, sellers, investors, and anyone relocating to Albuquerque or Rio Rancho).

2. Post at least one article of relevance per week.  I will be posting on the weekend.

3. Login to Active Rain daily to read the blogs of others, and to leave comments where necessary

4. Spend at least one hour per week to inquire about gadgets, widgets and the like, which could enhance my web presence

5. Spend at least one hour per week to checkout the Active Rain Blog and its Archive.  I have recently discovered that there is a wealth of information there.

Again, my thanks to all who have provided me guidance.

You could also have added "a methodical approach" to you title. Consistent, methodical, and simple, pays off.

Lloyd, that is great, a mini business plan for AR.  This is what I need to do because I tend to do it ad hoc and it cuts into my work time.  Congratulations on the feature.  This is a valuable post.

Great post about blogging Lloyd.  And yes we do have to have a balance between blogging once in a blue moon and blogging and checking blogs very often.  I do have a difficult time with time blocking for my blogging and therefore don't have the consistency and interesting posts some of the time.  When you Time block how do you go about it?

David, Robert, Peggy:  Thank you!  It was difficult, but after writing it down on paper, it became progressively easier.  I will be updating it in the near future because I did not allot enough time to comment on post that I receive from others.  Most are complimentary, but nonetheless are worthy of a response.

The other issue I am having is with the time allotted to look at AR Blog.  I need to improve that part of the process because I do not think it is efficient.  I find myself having to sort through the same series of blogs by AR.  I am sure there is a better way to do it
