Cash for Caulking - Another Program for the Socialist States of America

If you are in favor of a nation of entitlements than I am sure you will love this post I found.  However, if you are a bit old fashioned and believe that you should get what you earn and don't require a government to tell you what to do or pay you to do what they think you should then you will be as outraged as I am on this matter.

Here is one more government program, being proposed, that will create a cottage industry of handymen with caulking guns running around helping homeowners fulfill the program and make sure they get what they (the homeowner) is ENTITLED to...my tax dollars!

Sorry, but this gets me going...

One more scenario to consider...Investors?  So,if they buy a home and rehab it - will Uncle Obama be paying for half of those improvements as well?  Sure seems to me like we are headed to becoming the SOCIALIST STATES OF AMERICA.

Cash for Caulking  This is a rather new item that few people have heard about.  We thought it interesting and felt it was something you should know about.  President Obama has proposed a program that would reimburse homeowners for installing energy-efficient appliances, windows, and insulation.

Cash for CaulkingUnder what has been dubbed "Cash for Caulking," homeowners would get a 50 percent rebate on items like energy-efficient air conditioners, heating systems, washing machines and dryers, refrigerators, replacement windows, and insulation up to $12,000, meaning a household could spend $24,000 and get $12,000 back. There will likely be no income restrictions.

There has been speculation about how this program would pay the rebate - some have suggested that when you purchase an item covered under this program, that you'd only have to lay out 50% the amount of the cost and the retailer would get the other 50% from the government.

Cash for caulking could be a winner - lets hope it becomes more than a proposal!

More opinions than you want to hear about.

If they can increase it a little and give a 125% credit, we'll all be rich!  Of course, then when only the rich receive tax increases, we'll all have tax increases.

I'm still wondering how much the taxes are going to increase to pay for all of these credits.  Most of the taxes will fall on the middle income households.
