Carra-it was great to be able to put the two together and have a successful outcome for everyone.
Gita-thank you so much for stopping by. My best to you as well.
I'm new to Active Rain and anxious to see what it will do for my business. Thanks for the encouragement!
Long time no see Sis! You are definitely a major outside the box kind of gal and that's why you are so successful. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and ideas. Can you imagine Macy's telling Nordstrom's how they do what they do? Only in Real Estate and that's why I love getting together with other professionals, either virtually or in person : )
Sounds like a great deal. The MLS is the best way to sell a home, but there are lots of other good tools.
Real nice example of making this stuff work for you. Very creative marketing.
Karen-it doesn't happen overnight but you will find lots of success stories and advice on AR to help you along the way.
Kim-where have you been hiding? You are right that we do share a lot of our experiences with other agents to help encourage and mentor I think that is one of the unique things about Realtors that the general public doesn't see.
Gene-the MLS certainly gets homes the most exposure if nothing else due to the syndication level. However a blog has great SEO and can sometimes shoot a home to page one of Google with a better story.
Mike-there are all types of opportunities in our market to do things a little differently. This was one way to put one and one together and come out with the right number at the end.
Congrats Cindy, yet another blog touting the localism angle! Sounds like you did a great job getting noticed through your blog~
Vanessa-I think the best way to attract prospective buyers and seller is through targeted posts. I've been fortunate to be able to attract some terrific clients through my blog .
That's a great idea, to work with FSBOs that way. Congrats for being willing to work 'outside the box'.
Congrats Cindy for making AR work for you and for helping two clients make a vital change in their life. Keep up with the hyper local blogging and reap even more benefits in 2010.
Cindy,
Do you ask for any fees for marketing a property for which you do not have the exclusive right to sell?
Joetta-I've been contacted by another FSBO and am considering the same relationship again. I learned a few things from the last one and now have some new forms to have everyone sign as part of the transaction.
Bev and Bob-thank you for the compliment. Here is to great success for everyone in 2010.
Wayne-I had a signed exclusive agreement from the owners to market their home. It outlined what I would be paid for my services. When you think about it even when you have a listing agreement unless you specifically have a fee for services agreement as well you may be marketed a home for free if it doesn't sell.
congratulations! I just recently received a call from a seller that also wants to use my networking opportunities and not the mls to sell their home. What a different idea.
Sandy-it worked for the seller who called me and I'll bet it will work for you as well.
