My owner is a Realtor at Century 21 Award in Mission ValleyThey say that the Dallas Cowboys are America's Team, and my open house today might be proof of that.

I've had many open houses with the San Diego Chargers playing at home, or playing on the road in a televised game.

I've done open houses against undefeated teams, defending Super Bowl champions, winless teams, division winners, playoff games, etc., but I've never had an open house when the Dallas Cowboys were on television, and the fact that they were playing the San Diego Chargers today provided me with my worst open house since becoming a Realtor in May 2005.

Although I only had six visitors, one of them was a repeat visitor from last week. We had a lengthy discussion since it wasn't busy, and it looks like it might turn into a good relationship, so I better not complain!

I'm available 24/7, so feel free to contact me by phone or email.

I'll gladly trade my worst open house for yours... nobody showed up, and I made the mistake of not taking a chair!!! I ate my cookies, drank two of the colas, and after three hours, I went home.

Hi Jim:

Six visitors with a repeat one...sounds like you have a new buy to work with.

And the Chargers won...

I call that a successful Open House!

Sounds like you ample opportunity to watch the game.  Hopefully your visitors found the home more interesting than the game.

Jim,

In Toronto, the Leafs play at night, so there is no conflict.

And, we don't have a football team, even though the Buffalo Bills have played here twice.

Hi, Jim:

I have a lot more to complain about. The Cowboys lost. :( The Chargers played really well.

Cheers,

Robin

Hey, Jim. I think if you get something out of it + six visitors = success in my book. I know that I have sat open houses with 0 visitors. Chin up, Jim

Jim,

6 repeat buyers to an open house... you are connecting with!  Please wait while I get my tiny violin out to play "my heart bleeds for you."

6 is NOT the loneliest number... as the song goes!

Jim:

I have to admit I have done Open Houses where I did not get any and I mean ZERO people visiting.

No insult intended, and while I'm happy for you that the Chargers played well, we don't really need to keep seeing the Chargers on our local station... I feel as if we see them every week!  Colts, anyone? Steelers? Somebody else?  (I don't want to talk about the Bucs) :)

A repeat visitor is usually a good thing!  I've had a few open houses with fewer than 6 visitors.  Open houses tend to slow down quite a bit in the winter time in Northwest Indiana because of cold weather and snow.

Jim,

I would say repeat visitors are a good sign....

Jim, football game days are always less well attended here, too. If the Jaguars have a home game, forget it!

Jim---We absolutely never schedule open houses when the Colts are playing.  It is hopeless!!  But you never know till you try!

Early in my real estate career I did a few open houses on game day, however I made sure it was an occupied home. This allowed me to watch the game. Most wives don't care and most husbands sat down and watched. Which was good because it gave the wife all the time she wanted to look at the house without the husband saying hurry lets go. Now I never do an open house if the Longhorns are playing. If they are playing at home I am probably tailgating!

Jim, you have no room to complain, LOL. I don't watch sports, I would be the one to schedule an open house when the biggest football game of the year was on without realizing it.

But I would never schedule an open house when it was time to milk the cows... I'm just sayin...

Jim,

Six visitors to an open house here in Red Lodge would be considered a great success!  I was very happy that the San Diego Chargers won over the Dallas Cowboys.

Hey, Margo - I always make sure to take a chair, my notebook computer, and a book to read. It usually turns out that the more things I take to do, the busier the open house. Hmmm. That might be the secret.

Hey, Toula - We just have to continue looking at the bright side!

Hey, Charles - Around here any game involving the Chargers is interesting.

Hey, Bob and Carolin - I'm hoping so.

Hey, Brian - You could adopt the Bills. Or not.

Hey, Al and Peggy - I know who you are quoting! LOL

Hey, Robin - The Cowboys seem to be on a roll now.

Hey, Karen - Or have the open house at the stadium

Hey, Jim - In this economy and real estate market, you're right, I shouldn't be complaining.

Hey, Carra - I already have someone in the household here who plays the violin, and he loves to play that song. I don't need it in stereo. LOL

Hey, Jane - Fortunately, that has never happened to me.

Hey, Shoshana - I used to feel that way about the Steelers and Cowboys out here. Every week, bar none. Now that ESPN has the NFL, there seems to be a better variety here.

Hey, Irene - Weather doesn't seem to have any effect here. They come in the rain, they come in the sun.

Hey, Ann - Indeed they are.

Hey, Sharon - San Diego is a little bigger than Jacksonville, so maybe we have been attendance at open houses during Chargers games since only 48,000 can go to the game.

Hey, Pat - I like to try everything at least three times before I give up on it.

Hey, Betina - My husband has asked me to delete all comments that say "Hook ‘em, Horns." LOL

Hey, Andrea - We all have our priorities! LOL.

Hey, Gerry - Do they ride in on moose?
