You will not find Historic Homes in Wellington Florida.  Wellington Florida's Real Estate is Fresh and Desirable. 

Here is an old photo of C.O.Wellington, the founder of Wellington, Florida. 

Wellington Florida's land started getting developed in the 1960's but most homes here were built from 1979 to the present time with new developments being built. 

C. Oliver Wellington bought all the land in what is know today as the Village Of Wellington in 1951.  His vision was to create a planned unit development.

Mr. Wellington was from New York but he loved Florida and would come down to Florida as often as he could.

The road in Wellington called ‘Flying Cow Road’ is named after Wellington’s initials.

It was all farmland back then with farmers living here. This area had the world’s largest Strawberry patches! Wow, that amazed me! Strawberry fields for miles. I didn’t even know you could grow strawberries in Florida like that.

There were also many flower growers and it is told that the views of all the beautiful flowers were very memorable.

C. Oliver Wellington died in 1959. His son, Roger Wellington took over the family affairs. It became too costly to continue to maintain all this land so he began to sell off parts at a time to developers.
