Monday Mornings With Jim

The recent passing of business philosopher Jim Rohn has caused me to become more introspective lately. In light of that I have decided to begin my Monday mornings with a quote from Mr. Rohn and some thoughts of my own.

"Motivation is not enough. If you have an idiot and you motivate him, now you have a motivated idiot".

What I personally take away form this quote is to get and keep myself educated. If I get myself all excited to go out and get myself a boat load of listings and don't know anything about handling a listing. It reminds me that I need a business plan, a roadmap to success if you will. It also reminds me that I need to put more Jim Rohn in my weekly reading, the man was a motivator and nowhere near an idiot.

What do you take away from this quote?

There is a certain down to earth realism in this quote. At the end of the day no matter what you have what you bring to the table. The difference is how you use it. If you do not bring a lot then even if you use it all you will not be as sucessful as others. Nobody said life is fair.

Isn't a motivated idiot about the equivalent of a loaded gun with a hair trigger......
