Sounds of Lewisville Summer Concert Series



Seven top regional acts have been scheduled for the "Sounds of Lewisville" Summer Concert Series, presented for the 18th consecutive year by the City of Lewisville.
The free concerts will be held Tuesday nights from June 5 through July 24 (excluding July 3), starting at 7:30 p.m. at the Vista Ridge Amphitheater, 3049 Lake Vista Drive.
Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs. Alcohol is prohibited at the concert series.
"We are pleased to produce another great year for all concert series fans locally and in neighboring communities," Events and Promotions Specialist Melinda Stephens said.
This summer's lineup will include music in a range of genres from jazz to rock to cowboy country.
The complete slate of Summer Concert Series performers includes:

· June 5: Texas Gypsies (www.texasgypsies.com); "Euro Tex" -- Gypsy jazz with Texas swing, pop, disco and country

· June 12: King Creole (www.kingcreoleband.com); Music from the 60's & 70's

· June 19: Mighty Marvelous 4; Motown hits

· June 26: Tyler Dow Bryant Band (www.tylerdowbryantband.com); Blues and rock guitar CONCERT CANCELLED DUE TO WEATHER

· July 10: Spector's Gun Collection (www.spectorsguncollection.com); Classic rock

· July 17: Havana NRG Orchestra (www.havananrg.com); Latin orchestra

· July 24: Denton County Line (www.dentoncountyline.com); Southern rock party band

Vista Ridge Amphitheater is a city-owned outdoor performance facility with seating for about 850 people that is used for public events and is available for private rentals by calling (972) 219-3550.
"Sounds of Lewisville" also offers a Fall Concert Series with four more free performances held Tuesday evenings from Sept. 11 through Oct. 2 in Old Town Lewisville.
Performers will include Kenny and the Kasuals (Sept. 11), 4 Way Street (Sept. 18), Briefcase Blues (Sept. 25) and Brave Combo (Oct. 2).
Both series are coordinated by the City of Lewisville Community Relations & Tourism Department with assistance from the Parks and Leisure Services Department.
