Men at Faith Evangelical Bible Church get together for an entire day each year and spend the day shopping!  Yes, that's a Men's Christmas Shopping Trip!  It's organized by......men...and all the participants are.....yes, men!  And what's even more surprising to me is that they must have a good time doing in because it is scheduled again this year on Friday, December 18 starting at 8:00 AM until ??.

OK, so maybe it's not entirely ALL shopping.   Let's see what's on the schedule.  At 8:00 in the morning they are meeting at the Viking Chili Bowl in Valparaiso, Indiana for breakfast.  It takes energy to fight the crowds at the mall, you know.  Then at 2:00 in the afternoon, there is bowling at Stardust in Merrillville, Indiana.  Then after a long day of fun shopping there's dinner at New China Buffet.  So, I guess the shopping takes place in between the food and bowling?

I have to admit that this is one men's activity that I'd like to participate in as a fly on the wall.  Just what do a group of MEN do when they shop together?  Do they enjoy it as much as women do?  Mark (my husband) is not much of a shopper and we usually have to drag him to the mall.  I wonder if this is he will participate in the Men's Christmas Shopping Trip if he is in town?  I'll let you know!

Marilyn - Actually, that's the main reason I am hoping my husband is in town.  If he goes and enjoys it, that would be a miracle.  :-)   He just isn't the hang out at the mall and shop type at all.  Maybe it's different when it's just "the guys".

Hi Diane - I'm not sure who originally had the idea.  They've been doing this since before we joined FEBC.  Whoever's idea it was, I like it! 

By the way, Mark won't be there so I guess I won't get a closer glimpse at the fun they have shopping.  Oh, well!  :-)
