Google

How creative are you in your marketing strategies? Do you brand yourself? Do you change up your image? Your name?  How you brand yourself?

I have been following Google since Christmas and how they change their logo on each holiday. The last one that I wrote about was in regards to Google + Earth Day = Marketing twist & creativity

American Flag

Today is the 4th of July which is also know as Independence Day. There is a lot of history that surrounds this day. And even though Google operates on a lower advertising budget than the top ten brands, they certainly add a flair to their branding.

Conclusion : What can you learn from Google and how can you incorporate it into your marketing plan? Do you even have a marketing plan? Do you brand yourself? Do you change up the face of your web site at all?

Take a look at Lisa Hill and how see has branded herself. "The Smart Choice." Very creative, good color tone, and very basic.

If I just knew how to change my  website, without having to call my web guy, I could do that too.

Google definitely has it going on when it comes to marketing online.  The company has a strong sense of its business mission and how to "speak" to its audience.  It's no wonder Google is leaving the other search engine companies in its dust in terms of market share.  Thank you for the reminder that a great role model is right under our noses.

James....  thanks and yes, I am still in. I still owe you a previous blog of mine. On Vaca right now. Maybe sometime later today.

Steven......I agree with Tracy, you should have more control.  But would I know, I am not a tech geek. Just learning all of that.

Tracy.....   I definitely agree. And they do it so quietly and effectively. I think many of us can learn from this type of marketing. Even on our web sites. Thanks for your input.

Morning Jeff. Google is excellent at branding themselves.. I love their logo changes according to events & holidays and if you take a look, they even have a fan logos page where anyone can submit logos for Google, A nice way to engage their visitors.

Open Home..... I agree, marketing twists and changing up a page is always a good thing. Something that I haven't done in a while, which I need to do. And thanks for the compliment.

Marti.....  I love to their logo changes also. Thanks for the link. I think I have heard about this once before. i need to check it out. thanks...

Jim & Maria..... Yes, we can learn a lot from Google. I liked their 4th logo, but I will I was a little shocked that they didn't have some sort of fireworks in the background. Or possibly over the first letter "O".

Karen.... I really like your new picture and with the water in the background. But since I only knew you by your first picture, I would have never recognized you if you showed me your new picture and didn't tell me who it was. Thanks for sharing this.

Tony...... thanks for the polite comments. And I look forward to your Faves next Monday. Thanks again....

Teri.... yes, a great reminder that I actually need to follow. Have a great 4th yourself and thanks for the little 4th of July hat. It's cute.

Missy....  you have fun also. I have been down at the shore since Saturday and leaving Saturday. I am already tired from the early breakfasts, to 4 hours each day on the beach, and lots of walking on the boardwalk and or taking my nieces and nephews on the rides at night.  Have a good 4th.

Jeff-I beleive in throwing a few twists into my marketing strategy also.  I am learning so much about marketing strategy that my head is smoking!  Thanks to you for letting me know that there are others out that think along the same lines.  Aloha!

Jeff, actually I have not paid the Google logo any attention.  I just went back to look and now see your point.  That is an excellent point.  It is also a way to change the look of your website periodically so others will notice that you make regular updates.  This could be a good way to encourage them to return to see what you will do next.  I think I will try to incorporate this idea in the future...maybe starting with Labor Day.

Hi Jeff, I believe Yahoo does the same thing. I've doing this on my monthly newsletter heading, it'll have some little added graphic or maybe color change appropriate for each month but keeping the overall look consistent.
