As a Fullerton real estate agent I try to make my posts professional and stick to the subject of real estate. But alas I must make some positive comments on how proud I am of Fullerton. Fullerton city has given all of the homeowners three new trash bins - the goal being to help us be "green" , and recycle more while doing less landfill. Fullerton home owners now have a bin for "recycle", one for trash, and one for yard and grass waste.
It seems so simple and so easy that I am ashamed that we did not do it sooner. It Works - flat out WORKS. For instance, at my house we used to recycle soda cans and the daily news paper - everything else went into the trash (or should I say land fill). Now that has all changed - two or three times each day we walk out to the bins and separate the "stuff" into the proper category. It is so easy and makes us feel so good. The bottom line is that almost nothing goes into the normal trash. We have estimated that 75% of what we used to trash is now going into recycle. Wow - this is big - we have to conclude that many others in Fullerton are doing the same. Talk about a success, this is it. I am sure other cities have seen similar success, but why is it not all over the news and papers. I guess good news just travels slow - not the excitement of mass murders or Tiger's lovers.
Anyway, Fullerton home owners have a great new way to help us all. Maybe some day we will see this in all cities (even on the news)
