As I sit here in Stamford, CT. in my office... I hear the sound not of fireworks on this morning of the fourth, but of motorcyles revving on a computer my son is playing, the distinct ca-ching of a computer gambling game my mother is on, registers a big virtual win and I hear a sigh of acknowlegment that she too knows its just a game... no big check to follow ! As I type this blog on active rain (I admit I've spent countless hours here...) my wife is reading through the Stamford multiple listings on her computer... checking, memorizing and calculating things to show and possibilities to sell...and my son just instant messaged me from Spain telling me its four o'clock in the afternoon there, and he is in the midst of a siesta lull of his trip with ten high school students learning Spanish history.
I hear the revving again of the motocross bike as it careens around the pixilated track and marvel at the Ameican family entertaining itself on this country's independence day. Tomorrow I will go pick up a radon continuous monitor using my global positioning system to find the home, and maybe I'll go on line and buy an iphone to better stay connected to the internet for a mere $600.00. Maybe I should pull out my thermal infrared camera and just take my temperature to see if my dilerium is fever induced, or maybe I'll just go calm down with a cool drink in front of my plasma tv and home theatre... to watch a ballgame.
Does it seem the electromagnetic fields have impacted us? What was the question...
Alas, Happy fourth to all you active rainaholics... stay safe out there, don't get burned by your illegal fireworks, don't use of too much lighter fluid on those charcoal grills, don't forget to hug those kids and enjoy this country with or without our electrical toys, and please don't drink and drive tonight.
