"The Season" is upon us here in Palm Springs and the "snowbirds" are coming in droves to get away from the coldness of their hometowns.  At the beginning of the month, Palm Springs was hit with a pre-winter storm that brought rain to the valley and the air temperature plummeted to very cold levels.

The luxury real estate market in Palm Springs is just as brisk as the cold air around here.  Even though the market is not like an episode of Million Dollar Listing (Thank God!!), we had an increase in homes sales with prices over $1 million dollars.  There were 5 homes sold last month, which is more than the 3 homes that sold in October 2009.  Even though the distressed properties are getting all the attention in Palm Springs, its good to see that luxury homes are selling in this economy.  Here are the Million Dollar Listings that sold last month:

860 W. Panorama Rd.- $1,550,000 (Pictured Above)- 4 bedroom, 4.4 bath, 4700sf Mid-Century home located in Little Tuscany area of Palm Springs with commanding views of the mountains.  This home is situated on over 1 acre of land and closed escrow on Nov. 13, 2009.

1505 N. Rose Ave.- $1,500,000-  4 bedroom, 4.5 bath, 4078sf Contemporary home in the Las Palmas Heights neighborhood.  This home closed escrow on Nov. 13, 2009

245 Patel Place- $1,240,000- This ultra-modern 4 bedroom, 4.5 bath home is located in the Alta development of S. Palm Springs.  The home is over 4000sf, and all the amenities you could ever want.  This bank owned home closed escrow on Nov. 25, 2009.

278 Patel Place- $1,200,000- This Alta  home is 6 bedrooms, 6.5 baths, and over 4784sf of living space.  For those who appreciate contemporary architecture, Alta is the place to live.  This bank owned home closed escrow on Nov. 13, 2009.

3173 Avenida Sevilla- $1,020,000- This 5 bedroom, 5.5 bath, 6475sf Mediterranean-style home is located in the Andreas Hills neighborhood of S. Palm Springs.  The home is located near the Indian Canyons and has great views from the backyard.  This bank-owned home closed escrow on Nov. 13, 2009

Jared & Amanda,

It is a big house and was not shocked at the final price of 1.5 million.  The location & the views of the home are the best in town.  Thanks for commenting!!

Michelle-  I agree with you.  It is good to see the higher price homes moving at these prices.  It is a sign that people are willing jump into the real estate game, even at these prices.

Fernando- The views from Little Tuscany are amazing.  I live in Vista Las Palmas at the base of San Jacinto, but Little Tuscany is higher on the bluff.  Thanks for commenting.
