Charlie: What things should I think about when buying a home in the 
North Point area of Reston? My 2 best friends live there and they say that it is close to everything I would want. I am planning on moving from Texas and taking a job near Dulles Airport along the tech corridor of 28 and the toll road.
I have never purchased a home before. What are some of the considerations? I need to find a Reston realtor, apply for a mortgage the whole bit. Can you send a video that guides me in the thought process and that also would enable me to see if I might like having you and Jan help me find a home?
Steve Bachman: Charlie, buying a home in Reston entails the same thought process and 
procedures as almost anywhere else in Northern Virginia. You can check on what is for sale in North Point on the link above...but as far as the proces goes...the paperwork is lengthy (17-22 pages per offer) but helping home buyers wade through the process is our full time profession...you will emerge victorious.
In addition to Reston, the communities of Herndon, Ashburn or Sterling are right near Route 28 and the toll road (Route 267) and offer fine schools and a relatively simple commute.
