It's been quite some time since I have written.  I've been very busy growing my Brokerage and helping my members of The eHomes Realty Network. I'm glad to say my Brokerage grew again this year and The Network is doing great!

Today I spent our training session going over Goal Setting and Action Plans.  It's mandatory that you put together doable goals with a plan to get you there.  Most people make a few mistakes.

Mistake 1 - Setting goals that are impossible to reach.  I believe you can accomplish what you really want to accomplish.  However, if your goal is to sell 500 homes this coming year and you had only 6 sales all last year, it's most likely you won't get there.

Mistake 2 - Setting goals that are too low.  If the goal is too low, you are not challenging yourself.  It's important to challenge your abilities each year.  The more you challenge the more you grow.

Mistake 3 - Too many goals - Our goal setting system which I learned from Tony Robbins, helps you focus on the right goals.  You must pick the most important goals of the many you have.  Try to keep your yearly goals to 5 or less.  I used to have 20 and would accomplish less than half and always get down on myself for not accomplishing them all.   The reality was that there isn't enough time in a year to accomplish those 20 goals!

Once you have your goals written down and prioritized, it's most important to write action plans for each goal you have decided to use this year.  If you truly plan on accomplishing each goal, you have to figure out how you are going to do this.  What are you going to do that is different from this past year to tackle your goals.

Thursday, December 17, at 2pm, I will be holding my yearly goal setting hour with my members.  If you have never written down your goals and action plans, then you should try to attend this webinar.  If you do it, it will change your life.  No small order of course, but it surely will.

Remember, whether you come to my webinar, or read a book.  It doesn't matter.  What does matter is you really think twice about your career.  Do you really want to be successful in this business; in any business?  If so, writing goals and action and business plans are so important to the success of your business.  Let's start 2010 off with a new attitude, a new winning attitude that keeps you organized and focused on the tasks ahead.

Hope you see you there.  Have a fun night!

Mitch, Years ago when I first started setting goals I remember often setting myself up for failure.  Over the years I have learned to set realistic goals. There's nothing more discouraging than not meeting any of your goals.

they are so important and to have them written down and visualize is equally important. I believe you have to have a way to measure your progress.
