My Version of Carpe Diem (and A Happy 4th! )

Carpe Diem( Seize the day) !

Inspiration comes from the darnedest moments sometimes!!!

Our inspiration came today in the midst of the our morning ritual--drinking coffee on the back porch! My husband Jeff has been trying for months to catch a carp using a line with a treble hook and a lump of  "dough ball"   (Home made bait...we use canned biscuit mix soaked in vanilla then rolled in crushed corn flakes!)

Good God Almighty- We saw the line run and we knew we had him!

I sprinted for the fishing net while Jeff held the line and slowly pulled him in closer so that I could net him.... With three attempts, I got him!  Here he is- our Carp that inspired us to Carpe Diem!

Dont worry- he is back in the pond, safe .... look close- do you see his smile  ??

I just had the most perfect day on the beach with my husband. We have been busy lately and took the opportunity to Carpe Diem(Sieze the Day) . Emerald Isle  beaches are the best therapy!

We just can't say enough about how great we feel after a session with crashing waves, crystal clear water, gentle breezes and the humm of people having a good time. We dozed off a few times, ate lunch I packed earlier and basically recharged our batteries before coming back home.   The day is only half over and I am feeling like a new woman!

I have my camera ready for the sunset, fireworks and festivities...but nothing compares to the carp that inspired us this morning to literally Carpe Diem !

Happy 4th to everyone and play hard but stay safe...and certainly take the time to seize your day!

NO WAY!!!! N o t tasty! "Tasty" is a day at the beach with sweet-tea and watermelon in your cooler..."tasty" is dark chocolate by the campfire as you watch the fireworks on the Fourth..."tasty" is a big organic salad with ingredients from my own garden...but I somehow bonded with the smile on  Michele and Jeff's CARP andnow I have a real problem with thinking about eating the fish! Oh the power of a photo, Michele, eh?

Michele...At Wrightsville Beach there were just enough waves to keep you jumping a little , but calm enough for floating..my favorite!  Do you float? I'm amazed at how few people can do this...Roger included!

That poor little fishy!! Michele, you are right on target.. beaches are the BEST therapy. especially if there are waves and/or jetskiis and/or snorkeling involved :^D   Sounds like a blast up there!!

Ginger- you bet I can float, I actually think I may beable to float and sleep at the same time although I wouldnt advise it !

Nickky- The fish is fine, he actually brought us a great day! The beach is my therapist- and I agree in the water is better than out but either puts a smile on my face!

Michele, We are really are long lost sisters!  Let's eat all the bread and butter in sight, (you do like butter, right??) then go down to the ocean and take a floating nap! (while burning off all the calories) LOL!
