Yesterday, Our kids celebrated the fact that there will be no more homework til next year . . .

and tomorrow marks the last day of school for this year.

I think there are people of all ages celebrating the END of 2009.

When I ask what they are moving TOWARDS in 2010, I often get a pretty vague answer something like:

"Whatever 2010 brings, it's gotta be better than 2009!"

Guess what?

The reality of 2010 is that it will be more of the same for you personally unless you adjust your thinkin'.

Running AWAY from whatever 2009 was for you isn't a very solid plan - It's flight.

So . . . What are you going to begin running TOWARDS when the big, crystal ball drops in Times Square?

I figure we've all got @ 2 weeks to get this right :-)

Where's your water?

What is "good therapy" for you?

Walking in the park?

Cross-stitching?

Exercise?

Shopping?

Watching movies?

Reading a good book?

Enjoying an afternoon doing NOTHING?

Hangin' with your best friend?

Whatever it is, I encourage you to resolve to do MORE of that in 2010 . . . a by-product of doing more of what soothes you is that you'll be less impacted by what ails you.

Don't worry about thinking through the things you DON'T want to do in 2010 . . . What we give energy to EXPANDS.

Be who you are first . . . and the available space for the junk in your life will naturally diminish.

Setting goals for the new year might best begin with you asking yourself:

"Who am I?"

and then resolve to BE that person.
