We wrote about this RealBird feature earlier, but I thought I share a video tutorial with you as well. Janie Coffey created the video and it also demonstrates other best practices, such as picking the right title and using ActiveRain channels and categories for your post.  Thanks Janie !

Nice tutorial Janie - Zoltan I followed over here from your twitter link.  We haven't been adding our listings to RealBird and think we need to look into this!

For the title and tags I always enter the exact address of the property.  Thanks to Active Rain and Real Bird, all my listings are now front page on Google by the address.

I always submit these listing blogs to three AR groups:

AR MLS

Listings by address

Local Expert

I also send them to two other groups of my choice - if it's a million dollar listing I send it to the Million Dollar Homes Group.

I see you are on a Mac, are you using ScreenFlow or Camtasia?

Getting ranked for an address is easy and there is usually no traffic for the phrase. Which really is not helping you, except with impressing sellers.

I got a rental listing on Realbird.com. But I am going to go back and watch this video to see if I can learn something new. Cheryl Ritchie of Southern Maryland Real Estate led me to this blog. Great post.

Lee & Pamela - Thanks. Let us know if we can help

Mirela - Great additional info regarding the groups.

Linda - Blushing :) Thanks

Jeff - Janie used screentoaster.com. Regarding ranking for address, you are correct about the search volume, but ranking ahead of Trulia and Zillow often times for addresses is not that easy :) RealBird listings rank good for other terms if the post slug and title, description is used correctly, but for address, our property sites rank extra well. We heard success stories when a neighbor found our member's listing on RealBird via a neighborhood address search on Google and ended up hiring her via the RealBird listing website.

Cheryl - Thanks ! And thanks a lot for the all the promotion you have done for us on your blog and in person. Much appreciated.

Lanre - Thanks for being a RealBird member. Should you need assistance please do not hesitate to call or email. More new products are on the way

To rank ahead of Trulia and Zillow is easy. Make a youtube video. Here is an example to try. Google the search phrase: [2691 smokey park highway candler nc 28715].  I am not here to argue but when a buyer is searching they usually are not going to type an address but a neighborhood.

Janie & Zoltan, I'm going to try the RealBird approach. Sounds good. I took notes, so maybe can get this in less than five takes. The video is truly helpful. OK, maybe I'll go back and watch it one more time before I start the input.

I signed up with realbird last week, but I didn't get the hang of it.  After watching this video it makes more sense.  Some one mention realbird when I asked for help on my blog post.

Is there a tutorial somewher on how to create that search?

Tere - We have a tutorial site at http://realbird.wiki.zoho.com but we did not yet add any RealBird Property Search tutorials, we'll do in the upcoming weeks. We'll also contact you directly with support and show how to add the RealBird search widget to your blog posts.

In short: you can log into RealBird and preconfigure any type of search on the "Property Search" member page. Just set your search criteria and location and click the "Generate widgets and links" buttons. The system will then generate you the HTML code for that specific preset search which you can copy and paste into your blog post. Make sure that you switch to "HTML" view of the editor on ActiveRain before pasting the code. You can create unlimited, preset searches. It's a good idea to try to match your post's content with the search, e.g. if you write about a subdivision, make sure you preset that in the RealBird search. The more relevant your search results to your post, the more click-through and eventually inquiries it will generate.

I hope this help. We'll contact you directly with support as well.

Thanks

I just made a video for this search. Unfortunately I did not turn the mic on.  I will be redoing the video and posting it just might not be today.

PS: Zoltan Where is my YouTube video icon? I just noticed you have a link to blog already in the template. Then a second link to AR on the same page as a icon. Your giving two links to AR with no link to the second largest search engine in the world? (YouTube) I really don't care about a redundant AR icon I would like to see YouTube, Twitter and FaceBook. Thats the big three for traffic and I will cover a little about this in my video.

Jeff - Can't wait to see the video. Thanks ! Do you mind if we also add it to our tutorial website with due credits and links back to your sites?

Regarding YouTube: Valid points ! We have the DB facility already implemented for storing YouTube username. We just need to create the UI. Not a complicated job at all. I put high priority on this one (a week or two). Thanks for the feedback. When we announce, we'll give you credit for pushing this through as well.

Thanks

Here is the video. http://ashevillerealestatehomes.com/realbirdpropertytutorial   Let me know what you think in the comments sections below the video on YouTube. That way if you don't have a youTube account yet it will force you to get one.  Also don't sign up for an account and use some name not related to real estate. Try something generic like my town real estate. This is my main channel. http://www.youtube.com/user/ashevillenchomes and this is my real estate tutorial channel. http://www.youtube.com/user/activerealestate
